Summary: Poly (indole-5-carboxylic acid) (5-PICA), Poly (indole-6-carboxylic acid) (6-PICA), and Poly (indole-7-carboxylic acid) (7-PICA) were electrochemically deposited onto AISI304 stainless steel. The morphology and structure of the polymer were characterized using IR spectroscopy and SEM. The corrosion protection performance was evaluated using LSV and EIS in sulfuric acid solution at different temperatures. The results showed that the morphology and branching structure of the polymer had a significant influence on its hydrophobicity and corrosion protection ability.

Summary: Two supramolecular isomers, 1-L and 1-H, were obtained from the reaction of H(4)PTTA in a mixture of H2O and dimethylformamide. The single crystal structures revealed temperature-dependent supramolecular isomerism derived from the semi-rigid torsion of H(4)PTTA, with 1-L being a hydrogen bond-based achiral layer and 1-H being a chiral tubes-packed supramolecular framework resulting from hydrothermal synthesis.

Summary: This study investigates the structural studies of ammonium halide nanoparticles, focusing on small ammonium fluoride clusters with weak acidity and strong hydrogen-bonding ability. Different types of clusters exhibit complex behavior in the transition from ordinary hydrogen bonding to shared-proton hydrogen bonds and complete proton transfers. The size-dependent trends in intermolecular forces are explored and provide insight into the formation of anhydrous ammonium halide clusters.

Summary: Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a highly abundant and sustainable C1 building block for chemical synthesis, but its low reactivity and stability restrict its transformation into value-added chemicals. Recent advancements in flow chemistry have enabled effective and continuous transformations of CO2, utilizing the advantages of continuous flow platforms. This article provides an update on the latest developments in this research area, highlighting the need for continuous CO2 transformation.

Summary: In this work, a group contribution equation of state (GCAEOS) that considers association effects is extended to model mixtures of mono- and di-carboxylic acids with alkanes, alkenes, and cycloalkanes. The model parameters are correlated with a large database of experimental data, allowing for good predictions of phase equilibria and activity coefficients. The new parameterization also enables qualitative and quantitative predictions of mixtures containing dicarboxylic acids and other acids and hydrocarbons.

Summary: The regioselective coupling of NH indoles with diazo compounds using dimeric Rh(II) complexes as catalysts demonstrates selectivity towards C(6) or C(7) positions depending on the structure of the indoles. Mechanistic studies reveal that hydrogen-bonding directing effect plays a crucial role in determining the regioselectivity, with C-C bond formation proceeding through Friedel-Crafts-type attack. This work highlights the challenges and opportunities in controlling regioselectivity in reactions involving arene C-H bonds.

Summary: WO3_X@TiO2_X nanocomposites with oxygen vacancies were successfully prepared by hydrothermal synthesis, and WO3_X@TiO2_X/P6ICA nanocomposites were obtained by electrochemical polymerization. The presence of oxygen vacancies greatly enhanced the charge transfer capacity in WO3_X@TiO2_X, while P6ICA increased conductivity and energy storage capacity. The synergistic effect between WO3_X@TiO2_X and P6ICA resulted in good electrochemical properties and supercapacitive properties.

Summary: A rhodium-catalyzed cross-coupling/annulation reaction was developed for the synthesis of diverse trifluoromethylated indolopyranones. This reaction combines three valid pharmacophores (indole, pyranone, and trifluoromethyl) into one molecule, making it a useful precursor for drug synthesis. The reaction showed excellent regioselectivity and high functional group tolerance, making it a versatile method for the synthesis of complex molecules.

Summary: A study revealed that a microbial-based biostimulant can promote maize growth and enhance drought tolerance by inducing metabolic reconfigurations. Morphophysiological measurements and targeted metabolomics approach uncovered the impact of the biostimulant on maize plants under different water conditions (well-watered, mild and severe drought), which was further supported by gene expression and DNA methylation profiles.

Summary: This study successfully synthesized and characterized non-aromatic ring carboxylic acid ionic liquids (CNILs) with high extraction performance for indole. The study found that multifunctional sites and non-covalent interactions in the CNILs were the primary factors driving the indole extraction. Additionally, the recovered CNILs showed excellent reusability. These findings are of great significance for the development of appropriate and sustainable ionic liquid separation agents and the chemical industry's efforts in developing indole separation technologies.

Summary: The study examines the structures of complexes of benzophenone microsolvated with water molecules using broadband rotational spectroscopy and molecular jet in cold conditions. Water molecules are found to dock sideways on benzophenone and move above one of the aromatic rings as the water cluster grows to a trimer. The analysis reveals a dilemma in identifying the global minimum between open loop and closed loop arrangements, which is resolved with zero-point vibrational energy correction. An OH...pi bond and a Burgi-Dunitz interaction are present between benzophenone and the water trimer in the cluster, highlighting the delicate balance between water-water and water-solute interactions.

Summary: Broadband rotational spectroscopy was used to investigate the geometries of 3-methyl-3-oxetanemethanol and its complexes with water molecules. The study found that the conformation of 3-methyl-3-oxetanemethanol is influenced by microsolvation effects, and the hydrogen-bond arrangements in the hydrate complexes evolve with increasing water molecules.
