Summary: The correlation between diseases and acetylcholinesterase (AChE) has been emphasized in the medical field. AChE-responsive fluorescent probes can enhance the prevention of unexpected human diseases. This review discusses recent advances in AChE-responsive fluorescent probes for real-time detection of AChE expression and activity, categorized based on sensing rationale. Photophysical properties and proof-of-concept visualization studies are also summarized. It is hoped that this review will inspire the development of AChE-responsive fluorescent probes and contribute to improving global health conditions.

In biomedical sciences, nanodiamonds have shown promise in diagnostics, drug delivery, and manufacturing of surgical instruments, tissue engineering scaffolds, and antimicrobial agents. This review discusses the benefits of nanodiamonds, their applications in different fields, and the importance of purification, synthesis, processing, and surface functionalization. It also covers recent advances in biomedical and biological sciences.
