Summary: This review focuses on the P450 groups in microorganisms, including their distribution and application. Microbial P450 enzymes have great potential for applications, but the functions of most of them have not been studied. Therefore, selecting suitable P450 enzymes from a large P450 library, combined with engineering and immobilization technologies, can promote the large-scale application of microbial P450 enzymes.

Summary: Wet granulation is a crucial step in the manufacturing of solid-dosage forms in the pharmaceutical industry. Modelling wet granulation plays a vital role in shifting from batch mode to continuous production and implementing the Quality-by-Design approach. Three major models, including population balance model, discrete element method, and data-driven models, are evaluated in this review. Each approach has its advantages and can provide insights into different aspects of wet granulation. However, further research is needed to improve the accuracy and applicability of these models.

Summary: The limited range of chemical elements in the microbial 'biochemical palate' hinders the application of biotechnology, as some valuable compounds can only be produced through traditional organic chemistry. Synthetic biology provides tools to overcome this constraint by facilitating the incorporation of non-canonical chemical atoms into engineered microbes. This review explores natural assimilation routes for elements beyond the essential biology atoms and proposes a computational framework to identify elements amenable to biologization, offering sustainable alternatives for chemical production when combined with robust microbial hosts.

Summary: Duckweeds, a type of Lemnaceae, have gained attention as a sustainable source of nutrition, biofuel, and pharmaceuticals, as well as for their ability to remediate wastewaters. Indoor cultivation of duckweed can maximize yields, provide pest-free and sterile conditions, and enable crop manipulation. Technological advances in urban and vertical farming can be utilized to design and operate novel duckweed cultivation systems, including recirculating flow-through technology and sensor support systems with artificial intelligence. Despite challenges and knowledge gaps, there are realistic opportunities to develop and operate high-capacity, autonomous, controlled cultivation of duckweed under indoor conditions for various purposes.

Summary: The article examines the impact of the electricity allocation process on the establishment, growth, and geographical location of new green industry firms. Through a study in Norway, it is found that the management of the electrical grid hinders green industry firms in accessing power, due to regional variation in electricity availability, unclear rules and queue systems for accessing the grid, and a lengthy and potentially costly process for gaining access. These findings highlight the importance of formal and informal rules in determining the establishment of green industry firms and may impede progress on climate goals.
