Summary: Prostate cancer growth and progression are dependent on androgens, but treatment failure and poor prognosis occur when the cancer becomes androgen independent. In this study, RASAL2 was found to play an oncogenic role in prostate cancer by promoting tumor cell proliferation and growth through the PI3K/AKT/cyclin D1 pathway. RASAL2 expression was higher in cancer tissues and correlated with poorer prognosis. These findings suggest that RASAL2 may be a potential therapeutic target for prostate cancer.
