Summary: This study aimed to investigate whether an assessment tool administered prior to a professional anatomy course correlated with the course performance of allied health students. The results indicated a significant correlation between pre-quiz scores and examination performance throughout the course. Students reported feeling most deficient in neurobiology and anatomy terminology, and watching videos targeting these areas improved their course assessments. Most respondents recommended taking an undergraduate anatomy course before starting a professional health program.

Summary: This study explored the changes in metacognition among allied health students in an anatomy course and identified a disconnect in metacognition among middle-performing students. The study found that metacognition scores significantly increased by the end of the course. However, middle-performing students anticipated higher grades and were less satisfied with their performance, indicating a need for additional support in improving metacognition.

Summary: The study suggests that using visualization table-based thoracic cross-sections, digital models, and a 3D printed heart for learning can enhance student understanding of cross-sectional anatomy. It also found that clinical imaging is more challenging for students compared to surface anatomy and gross anatomy. Further research is needed to explore the implications of these findings on implementing multimodal cross-sectional anatomy learning approaches in medical curricula.

Summary: This study conducted among medical, dental, pharmacy, and health sciences students in the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, showed that all students are ready to adopt Interprofessional Education (IPE) and have positive attitudes towards it. The focus group discussions highlighted three main themes: prior knowledge, the need for IPE framework and its implementation, and perceived barriers including information workload and less focused teaching pedagogies. Educators are encouraged to integrate new IPE programs into existing curricular frameworks to enhance collaborative learning and improve patient care quality.

Summary: Contemporary practice in interprofessional education has primarily focused on learners' competencies for interprofessional collaboration, while overlooking the competencies that educators need. There is a lack of global consensus on the core competencies needed for IPE facilitation, as well as globally accepted tools to assess interprofessional educators' competencies. The International Working Group for Interprofessional Educators Competencies, Assessment, and Training aims to address this gap by providing globally developed tools to foster IPE educator competencies.
