Abstract

1-(Fluoren-2-yl)-benzoled][1,2.3]triazoles 5a-b were synthesized starting from 2-nitrofluorene 2-Nitrofluorenes la-b were reduced by catalytic hydrogenation, reacted with 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene followed by catalytic hydrogenation to afford 2-(N-2,4-diaminophenyl)aminofluorenes 4a-b. Diazotization of 4a-b with NaNO2/H2SO4 followed by treatment with H3PO2 gave 5a-b Sulfonation of 5a-b yielded 7-benzotriazol-l-yl-fluorene-2-sul Ionic acids 6a-b The structures of 5b and 6b were firmly identified by X-ray crystal analysis in addition to H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, and elemental analysis.

Synthesis of poly[1-phenyl-2-(fluoren-2-yl)acetylene]s bearing trimethylsilyl groups at the fluorene 9-position to give highly gas-permeable polymer membranes

Summary: Four types of polymers with SiMe3 groups at the 9-position of fluorene were synthesized and tested for gas permeability, with an increase in the number of SiMe3 groups leading to higher permeability. The desilylation of these membranes resulted in polymers with different gas permeabilities, with highly permeable polymers showing good stability against physical aging.

X-ray Molecular Structures of 23 N1-4-Nitrophenyl, 2,4-Dinitrophenyl, and 2,4,6-Trinitrophenyl-2-pyrazolines

Summary: Here, we conducted a comprehensive crystallographic study on three series of N1-aryl substituted-2-pyrazolines, with the aryl groups being 4-nitrophenyl, 2,4-dinitrophenyl, and 2,4,6-trinitrophenyl. We described the structural features and analyzed the influence of the substituents on the molecular structures. The presence of both enantiomers was observed in compounds with stereogenic centers, and the molecular packings in all series followed different patterns of intermolecular interactions.

Summary: The transformation behavior of UV328 in polyethylene (PE) plastic by NaClO was investigated. The reaction rate was found to depend on the concentration of free active chlorine and the decrease of UV328 concentration. The main transformation pathways were speculated to be chlorination, hydroxylation, coupling, and bond cleavage.

Summary: The newly synthesized ligand N-allyl-2-(2,4-dinitrophenyl)hydrazine-1-carbothioamide was found to form H-bonds and complexes with different metal ions, resulting in square planar structure for Cu(II) complex. The ligand and Cd(II) complex exhibited strong antioxidant and antitumor activities.

Summary: This study investigates the excited-state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) reaction mechanism of a novel chromophore BTS using density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density functional theory (TD-DFT) methods. The research shows that the intramolecular hydrogen bonding is enhanced under the excited state, providing driving force for the ESIPT process.

Synthesis of 3-(Pyridin-2-yl)quinazolin-2,4(1H,3H)-diones via Annulation of Anthranilic Esters with N-pyridyl Ureas

Summary: A new synthetic route for quinazolin-2,4(1H,3H)-diones and thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidine-2,4(1H,3H)-diones substituted by pyridyl/quinolinyl moiety in position 3 has been developed. The method involves the annulation of substituted anthranilic esters or 2-aminothiophene-3-carboxylates with 1,1-dimethyl-3-(pyridin-2-yl) ureas, forming N-aryl-N'-pyridyl ureas and subsequent cyclocondensation into the desired heterocycles. The reaction exhibits moderate to good yields (up to 89%) and can be easily scaled to gram quantities.

Tandem Cycloaddition of Azides to 3,3-Diaminoacrylonitriles (2-Cyanoacetamidines) and Cornforth-Type Rearrangement as an Approach to 5-Amino-1,2,3-triazole-4-N-substituted Imidamides

Summary: An efficient metal-free method for synthesizing 5-amino-1,2,3-triazole-4-N-sulfonyl- and arylimidamides has been developed based on a tandem process involving cycloaddition reaction and Cornforth-type rearrangement. The reaction optimization identified several factors that facilitate the reaction, including the use of a strong base and specific 3,3-diaminoacrylonitriles. The method has a broad scope and can be applied to obtain various 5-amino-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbimidamides with different substituents.

New potent steroid sulphatase inhibitors based on 6-(1-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)naphthalen-2-yl sulphamate derivatives

Summary: A new class of potent steroid sulphatase inhibitors based on 6-(1-phenyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)naphthalen-2-yl sulphamate derivatives has been reported in this study. Compound 3L exhibited the highest activity in enzymatic assay, inhibiting STS activity to 7.98% at 0.5 μM concentration. Cell line experiments confirmed the effectiveness of 3L in passing through cellular membrane, making it a promising candidate for further preclinical investigations with an IC50 value of 15.97 nM.

Summary: The study demonstrates that compounds 4a and 4b synthesized in this research possess selective and rapid detection capabilities for heavy metal ions and ammonia in environmental samples. These compounds can be used for colorimetric detection of chromium ions and ammonia, and the addition of strong electron-withdrawing groups and consideration of conjugation effect can enhance the detection sensitivity for anions.
