Summary: Chordoma is a rare type of bone cancer characterized by aggressive and destructive behavior. Treatment involves en bloc resection and radiotherapy, but delayed diagnosis contributes to low survival rates.

Summary: This study found that low expression of H3K27me3 is associated with poor prognosis and recurrence in chordoma patients, and may serve as a potential therapeutic target for conventional chordoma patients.

Summary: The treatment of metastatic germ cell cancer is based on the 1997 IGCCCG prognostic classification, with improved outcomes over time. Excellent prognosis was seen in intermediate-risk patients, but treatment improvement is needed for those in the poor-prognosis group.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the histologic, radiologic, and transcriptomic differences in conventional chordoma based on the stromal component. The study found that stroma-rich chordomas showed significant signal enhancement on MRI and upregulated genes associated with cartilage, collagen/extracellular matrix, and tumor metastasis/progression. However, the correlation between these differences and clinical outcomes remains unclear.

Summary: Cytologic techniques can be used as reliable and accurate methods for diagnosing extragonadal germ cell tumors (EGGCTs), and their importance is particularly prominent in cases where preoperative chemotherapy is involved.

Summary: The article discusses the immune interactions of chordoma and chondrosarcoma, potential treatment targets, and emerging clinical data. Surgical resection remains the cornerstone of management for these tumors, while immunotherapy agents are showing promise in improving outcomes.

Summary: The mesodermal transcription factor T has a global effect on pluripotency by binding to Oct4 and other pluripotency regulators, affecting cell differentiation pathways. Lower T levels promote germ cell differentiation, while higher levels enhance somatic differentiation and repress germ cell differentiation. In vivo, nascent germ cells are detected in areas with lower T levels, indicating a regulatory mechanism for germ cell segregation from somatic lineages.

Summary: Germ cell tumors are common cancers that occur in childhood and peak at around 30 years of age. They are most frequently found in the testes, but can also originate in other areas. These tumors show a high sensitivity to chemotherapy and radiation, resulting in relatively high cure rates. However, there is a lack of data on patients diagnosed after the age of 50, and no specific trials have been conducted for this population. Treatment for these patients is similar to that of younger patients, but may have higher toxicity.

Summary: This article provides a detailed description of the use of ultrasound in germ cell tumours and offers guidance on performing an ultrasound examination. It also includes the classification of germ cell tumours and describes the key features of different types of tumours. The challenges and pitfalls of ultrasound are discussed, as well as other applications of ultrasound in this patient group.

Summary: Testicular germ cell tumors (GCTs) are the most common malignancy among young males. The majority of patients present with early stages of the disease that are highly curable. Primary retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (RPLND) has been shown to be effective for low-volume metastatic GCT, providing an alternative to systemic chemotherapy.

Summary: Research has found that the interaction between seminoma cells and immune cells plays an important role in the progression of testicular germ cell cancer (TGCC). Seminoma cells can induce immune cell activation and generate a pro-inflammatory environment, while T cells can increase the proliferation, metastatic potential, and stemness of tumor cells.

Summary: This study compared the early outcomes of passive scattering proton therapy (PSPT) and pencil beam proton therapy (PBPT). The results showed that PBPT had comparable outcomes to PSPT. The degree of resection was more important than the modality of proton therapy. Further follow-up and cases are needed to evaluate the benefit of PBPT.

Summary: The study evaluated data from familial chordoma patients and sporadic chordoma patients, finding that familial chordoma patients were diagnosed at a younger age and tended to have skull base tumors, suggesting the importance of reviewing family history and conducting MRI screening for chordoma patients.
