High current limits in chemical vapor deposited graphene spintronic devices

Summary: Understanding the stability and current-carrying capacity of graphene spintronic devices is crucial for their applications in spin current sensors, spin-torque oscillators, and spin-integrated circuits. In this study, it was found that chemical vapor deposited (CVD) graphene can sustain remarkably high currents of 5.2 x 10(8) A/cm(2), which is two orders higher than previously reported values in multilayer CVD graphene. The current-carrying capacity of CVD graphene primarily depends on its sheet resistance, and it can operate without degradation at high operating currents of 10(8) A/cm(2).

Graphene delamination from chemical vapor deposited turbostratic multilayer graphene for TEM analysis

Summary: This study presents a new approach to reveal the grain structure of turbostratic multilayer graphene (MLG) using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) observation. Mechanical delamination is demonstrated to peel off the topmost graphene layers of the MLG, and patterning of the MLG prior to delamination is found to be effective for obtaining graphene films with desired shape and arrangement.

Sequential growth and twisted stacking of chemical-vapor-deposited graphene

Summary: This study investigates the CVD growth of graphene adlayers on copper using isotope-labeling-based Raman spectroscopy and high-resolution atomic force microscopy. The results show that approximately 37% of the adlayers follow a sequential growth pattern, and evidence at the atomic scale reveals the origin of AB- and twisted BLG stacks formed by the two growth modes.

Summary: In this study, carbon dioxide gas was converted into graphene on copper foil using a thermal chemical vapor deposition method with hydrogen plasma pre-treatment. The number of graphene layers can be controlled by adjusting the pre-treatment power, and high-quality bilayer and few-layer graphene have been successfully synthesized.

Summary: Chemical species adsorbed on the surface of graphene can alter the concentration of charge carriers, affecting the material's electronic properties and enabling graphene-based sensors to detect a wide range of biomolecules, chemicals, and gas/vapors. Chemical vapor deposition grown graphene has been proven to be the most prominent route to large-scale device production. However, a comprehensive review on scalable, macro-sized, chemical vapor-deposited graphene-based field-effect transistor sensors is still lacking.

Enhanced Mobility in Suspended Chemical Vapor-Deposited Graphene Field-Effect Devices in Ambient Conditions

Summary: The high field-effect mobility and two-dimensional nature of graphene films make it a promising material for developing sensitive sensors with low power consumption. The chemical vapor deposition process allows scalable production of high-quality graphene films. This study presents a simplified fabrication process to develop suspended chemical vapor deposition graphene devices with enhanced field-effect mobility operating at room temperature.

One-pot synthesis of vertical graphene/h-BN heterostructure utilizing the passivation role of hydrogen

Summary: Graphene/hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) heterostructures have superior electronic properties and novel physical properties. The impact of hydrogen on nucleation density, growth rate, and etching rate in h-BN chemical vapor deposition (CVD) growth is crucial. By modulating hydrogen partial pressure, we successfully synthesized graphene/h-BN vertical heterostructures and observed better performance in field effect transistors.

A review on supercapacitors based on plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposited vertical graphene arrays

Summary: Vertical graphene (VG) has gained attention as an electrode material for supercapacitors due to its unique properties. Progress has been made in growth and application of VG, but there are still many recent developments to be reviewed. By controlling the growth direction of graphene, its electronic band structure and bandgap can be controlled. VG exhibits superior performance in electrolyte and electron transport, making it a promising material for future energy storage devices. This review summarizes the importance of VG structure, growth methods, and strategies to enhance energy storage performance.

Direct chemical vapor deposition synthesis of graphene super-hydrophobic transparent glass

CF4 plasma etching-assisted CVD method enables the direct synthesis of superhydrophobic light-transmitting graphene glass, with excellent hydrophobicity and transmittance, showing great potential in transparent conductors, smart windows, simple heating devices, and solar-cell electrode fields.

Ultraslim and highly flexible supercapacitor based on chemical vapor deposited nitrogen-doped bernal graphene for wearable electronics

Summary: This article presents the synthesis of few-layer pristine graphene and nitrogen-doped Bernal graphene (CVDNG) through low-pressure chemical vapor deposition approach for flexible supercapacitors. Raman mapping and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were used to analyze the characteristic bands and statistical distribution of Bernal stacking in CVDNG, and the doping in graphene was confirmed. CVDNG symmetrical supercapacitor device showed enhanced areal capacitance, high energy density, excellent flexibility, and specific capacitance retention after 10,000 charge-discharge cycles.

Metal-Assisted Chemical Etching for Anisotropic Deep Trenching of GaN Array

Summary: This paper demonstrates a damage-free, rapid metal-assisted chemical etching (MacEtch) method for anisotropic deep trenching of GaN, providing a new approach for GaN-based devices fabrication. The optimized etchant is studied to restrain disorder accumulation of excessive Cu particles and ensure continuous etching result, showing promise for promoting evolution of GaN-based device fabrication.

Combinatorial Cu-Ni Alloy Thin-Film Catalysts for Layer Number Control in Chemical Vapor-Deposited Graphene
