Summary: Hikikomori, a form of pathological social withdrawal, exists in China with a prevalence rate of 8.1%. Residence and loneliness are related to the occurrence of hikikomori. Hikikomori sufferers exhibit more severe social withdrawal behaviors and loneliness compared to the past, highlighting the importance of providing social support to young individuals.

Summary: This study focuses on the thermal activation of surface-attached polymer networks under mild conditions, using a novel cross-linker based on a diazo phenyl ester group. The system, which enables the rapid complete cross-linking of films with simultaneous surface attachment to organic materials via CHic, only requires activation below 100 degrees C and has a long shelf life at room temperature. It has potential applications in coatings and complex geometries.

Summary: Online social networks (OSNs) have become a crucial aspect of societal digitalization, altering communication, decision-making, and beliefs, with impacts on social groups, financial systems, and political communication. Social media platforms are home to social bots, which mimic human social behaviors and automate sociotechnical actions.

Summary: This study evaluated the perceived impact of social media on panic buying behaviors in the Iraqi Kurdistan region. The results showed a significant positive correlation between social media use and panic buying. Collective measures, such as sensible use and adequate media literacy, are needed to prevent such behaviors during public health emergencies.

Summary: This study investigated the prevalence and factors associated with the intention to receive COVID-19 vaccinations among Chinese factory workers during the pandemic. The results showed that positive attitudes towards vaccination, support from significant others, perceived behavioral control, exposure to positive information through social media, and compliance with preventive measures were all positively associated with the intention to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.

Summary: This study used a large-scale digital survey to investigate COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy in Bangkok, Thailand during the vaccination campaign. The findings showed a decline in vaccine hesitancy over time, and individuals who accepted the vaccine trusted information from scientists and health experts.

Summary: Understanding the heat flow in polymers is crucial for designing advanced functional materials. Traditional approaches to increase the thermal conductivity involve semicrystallinity and cross-linking, but a combination of both effects does not always result in an increase of thermal conductivity. Instead, the tunability of thermal conductivity in polymer networks is determined by a delicate competition between lattice periodicity, cross-linker types, and bond density.

Summary: Natural supramolecular filaments have the ability to cross-link with each other and interface with cellular membranes through biomolecular noncovalent interactions, forming complex networks. Artificial supramolecular polymers have limited exploration in specific noncovalent interactions but can be engineered to create adjustable structures by controlling surface density and concentration. This strategy provides a pathway for designing more complex biomimetic adaptive materials.

Summary: We developed a disulfide cross-linking approach, xHEED, to measure the distance-dependent encounter frequency of DNA helices in solution. Our measurements define the relevant distances for electrostatic interactions of nucleic-acid helices and provide insights into the impact of different ionic conditions on these forces.

Summary: The study introduces a method to preserve protein complexes by in vivo cross-linking, followed by size exclusion chromatography and data-independent acquisition mass spectrometry, enabling the characterization of in vivo protein complexes from cells or tissues to determine their clinical importance. This approach can identify protein complexes not detected by the in vitro system, providing unique insights into protein functions.

Summary: This study describes a contained-electrospray experiment that has the potential to integrate peptide/protein cross-linking with general mass spectrometry workflow. By optimizing the online cross-linking process, various cross-linked products can be detected and it is found that the terminal fully cross-linked product consists of two distinct conformations. This research provides a foundation for future development of high-throughput structural mass spectrometry methods.

Summary: In this study, the authors developed a contained-electrospray experiment that allows for the integration of peptide/protein cross-linking with mass spectrometry analysis. They optimized the online cross-linking process and identified the different reaction events involved in the crosslinking process. They also observed two distinct conformations of the fully cross-linked product. These findings lay the foundation for future development of a high-throughput structural mass spectrometry method.

Summary: Cross-site datasets can improve the disease diagnosis capabilities of machine learning models, but different data distributions between sites can hinder model generalization. Online transfer learning (OTL) is a potential solution, but it is limited by zero initialization and the need for a large number of samples. In this article, we propose a new framework called few-shot synthetic OTL (FSOTL) that uses synthetic data to warm up the model and achieve more accurate results with few target samples, offering a promising cross-site online computer-aided diagnosis system for large-scale applications.

Summary: A reliable diffusion bonding of Ti3Si(Al)C-2 ceramic is achieved by using Au foil as an interlayer at a lower temperature and shorter time. This method significantly decreases the bonding temperature by about 150 degrees Celsius compared to the lowest temperature reported in current research, and achieves a higher shear strength at 650 degrees Celsius.
