Summary: The novel electromagnetic interference suppression method based on the piezoelectric effect utilizes PISC to provide a low-impedance propagation path at its resonance frequency for attenuation of discrete disturbance peaks in switch-mode power supplies. PISC not only serves as a substitute for regular capacitors but also offers selective attenuation at specific frequencies, potentially reducing the size, weight, and cost of SMPSs.

Summary: In recent years, the power consumption of data centers has increased, leading to a shift in server rack architecture to higher voltage levels. The conventional power delivery system involves two stages of dc-dc conversion, with the 4-to-1 switched tank converter (STC) being commonly used in the first stage. However, the STC generates a large inrush current during startup. This article proposes a novel control technique to mitigate the inrush current and presents a strategy to minimize resonant frequency mismatch in the STC.

Summary: This article presents a novel control system for a regulated resonant switched-capacitor point-of-load converter, together with its steady-state and small-signal analyses. The system utilizes a combined frequency/phase shift on-chip controller to regulate the output voltage for a wide range of conversion ratios, while maximizing efficiency through different operation modes. A prototype based on a 130-nm CMOS technology ASIC has been designed, achieving the desired conversion range and high power density with reduced inductor size. The converter efficiency is comparable to that of an integrated buck converter designed for the same application.

Summary: This article presents a phase-shift-modulated resonant two-switch boosting switched-capacitor converter (RTBSC) and its modulation map. Compared with the traditional RTBSC, all diodes are replaced by active switches and phase-shift modulation is applied. The modified topology provides advantages such as efficient regulation of voltage gain, reduction of conduction loss, achievement of zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) turn-ON, and smooth current profile. A comprehensive analysis of operation principle, voltage gain, component stress, and ZVS region is provided, along with a modulation map for optimal operation. A 120W prototype was designed to verify the analyses.

Summary: A novel topology of multilevel inverters is proposed in this study, which successfully reduces common-mode voltage by connecting the neutral of the ac output to the midpoint of the dc link. All switched-capacitors are ensured to be charged for at least half of the fundamental period, alleviating capacitor voltage ripples and current spikes.

Summary: This paper proposes a method for designing an RSD-based pulse circuit without a magnetic switch. The pre-charge time of the RSD is ensured by the energy conversion between the capacitors and inductors, rather than relying on the saturation of the magnetic switch. Additionally, the energy required to trigger the RSD is based on an inductor. The performance of the pulse circuit is evaluated through simulations and practical experiments, and the factors affecting the load pulse current and triggering of the RSD and RBDT are studied. A method to reduce the current in the trigger switch, a potential problem in the pulse circuit, is also proposed.
