IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER ELECTRONICS

Journal Title
IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON POWER ELECTRONICS

IEEE T POWER ELECTR

ISSN / eISSN
0885-8993
Aims and Scope
The IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics journal covers all issues of widespread or generic interest to engineers who work in the field of power electronics. The Journal editors will enforce standards and a review policy equivalent to the IEEE Transactions, and only papers of high technical quality will be accepted. Papers which treat new and novel device, circuit or system issues which are of generic interest to power electronics engineers are published. Papers which are not within the scope of this Journal will be forwarded to the appropriate IEEE Journal or Transactions editors. Examples of papers which would be more appropriately published in other Journals or Transactions include: 1) Papers describing semiconductor or electron device physics. These papers would be more appropriate for the IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices. 2) Papers describing applications in specific areas: e.g., industry, instrumentation, utility power systems, aerospace, industrial electronics, etc. These papers would be more appropriate for the Transactions of the Society which is concerned with these applications. 3) Papers describing magnetic materials and magnetic device physics. These papers would be more appropriate for the IEEE Transactions on Magnetics. 4) Papers on machine theory. These papers would be more appropriate for the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems. While original papers of significant technical content will comprise the major portion of the Journal, tutorial papers and papers of historical value are also reviewed for publication.

Verified Reviews
Note: Verified reviews are sourced from across review platforms and social media globally.
2022.8.28 Submission
2022.10.27 First round of revisions, rejection can be resubmitted, 3 reviewers, 15 questions, mainly regarding unclear contributions and logic.
2023.3.21 Major revision and resubmission (took a break to work on a project for the teacher).
2023.4.22 Second round of revisions, neither accepted nor rejected, 3 reviewers, 8 questions.
2023.5.24 Second round of revisions.
2023.6.2 Accepted.
Some points to note in between:
1. Maintain a calm mindset after rejection. This is a top journal in the industry with high requirements for theoretical innovation, expression, and review.
2. Write the revision comments carefully. I wrote 26 pages for the first review, and 13 pages for the second review, while my paper is only 13 pages long.
3. Clearly state the contributions made in the introduction and summarize at the end of each chapter.
4. It is preferable to include videos of practical testing. I uploaded 2 testing videos, which pleased the reviewers.
5. Avoid rushing others. One month for the first round and one month for the second round is a normal pace.
2023-06-03
2022.11.17 submission;
2023.02.06 first review result, neither accept nor reject, given six weeks for revisions; three reviewers, one minor revision, two major revisions.
2023.03.08 revised version submitted;
2023.04.15 second review result, conditionally accept with major mandatory changes, given four weeks for revisions; two reviewers have no comments, one reviewer requests major revisions. The reviewer who requests major revisions is surprisingly more severe in tone compared to the first round and raises some confusing questions, but still earnestly made changes for 20 days.
2023.05.05 revised version submitted;
2023.05.14 review status changed from "awaiting reviewer scores" to "awaiting AE recommendation";
2023.06.09 awaiting Co-EIC recommendation;
2023.06.10 awaiting EIC decision;
2023.06.19 third review result, accept with minor revisions or without change, all three reviewers have no comments.
Waiting for the results of the third round of review is really nerve-wracking, but fortunately, it turned out well.
