Summary: This study demonstrates that angiotensin II increases nitroxidative stress through the JAK2/STAT3 pathway, leading to the overexpression of Gi alpha proteins and cell cycle proteins, as well as the hyperproliferation of VSMC.

Summary: In this study, the role of Sirt1 in ANG II-induced overexpression of Gi alpha proteins and hyperproliferation of aortic VSMCs was examined. It was found that ANG II treatment increased Sirt1 expression in VSMCs, which was attenuated by AT(1) and AT(2) receptor antagonists.

Summary: Sirtuins are NAD+-dependent enzymes that play a crucial role in the pathogenesis and treatment of various disorders. They are protein deacetylases expressed widely in the body and are involved in DNA repair, cellular metabolism, mitochondrial function, and inflammation. Deletion of SIRT1 protein in organs like the brain, heart, liver, and pancreas can lead to inflammation and oxidative stress, which are closely associated with chronic diseases. Modulating SIRT1 gene expression may help prevent the progression of these chronic diseases.

Summary: The study found that BPA disrupted the normal estrus cycle in mice and induced oxidative stress, autophagy, and apoptosis in ovaries and granulosa cells. Supplementation with resveratrol protected ovarian granulosa cells and alleviated the toxic effects of BPA.

Summary: In this study, we found that Sirt1 is overexpressed in vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) from spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), contributing to the enhanced expression of Gi alpha proteins, cell cycle proteins, and hyperproliferation. Furthermore, Sirt1 augments oxidative stress to mediate these effects.

Summary: In this study, several analogues of RSV were synthesized and their toxicities on neuronal cells were evaluated. The results showed that all analogues had IC50 values between 11.3 and 25 micrograms/mL, while RSV had an IC50 value of 14.5 micrograms/mL. These analogues induced an increase in plasma membrane permeability, mitochondrial depolarization, and overproduction of reactive oxygen species. However, only RSV induced cell death by apoptosis. These analogues may serve as potential alternatives for tumor therapy, but their mechanisms of action differ from RSV.

Summary: The study found that malathion disrupts the estrus cycle in mice, while resveratrol helps reverse this effect and reduce ovarian damage. Therefore, resveratrol may potentially be a drug to prevent malathion-induced ovarian damages and estrus cycle disorder.

Summary: The article reviews recent advances in understanding the proteolytic mechanism of 20S proteasomes, highlighting key processes such as substrate binding, conformational changes, and translocation mechanisms. Although both 20S and 26S proteasomes coexist in eukaryotic cells, they generate distinct peptide products through differential translocation mechanisms, rationalizing their presence for different degradation modes and substrate repertoires.

Summary: Mitochondria play essential roles in cell physiology and kidney diseases by generating cellular energy and producing reactive oxygen species (ROS). However, overproduction of ROS in kidney diseases can lead to oxidative stress, disrupting mitochondrial function and altering cell signaling pathways, ultimately causing inflammation and cell apoptosis. Studies on the dysregulation of redox-sensitive signaling pathways in mitochondria could provide insights into potential therapeutic targets for kidney diseases.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of resveratrol on systemic inflammation and metabolic disorders in rats exposed to a high-fructose high-lipid diet (HFHLD) and round-the-clock lighting (RCL). The combined effect of HFHLD and RCL leads to decreased levels of melatonin and increased pro-inflammatory activities, oxidative stress, and metabolic disorder. Resveratrol mitigates these effects, leading to increased melatonin levels and reduced inflammation and metabolic disorder.
