Summary: This study investigates the sedimentary records of the Ross Sea to understand the history and changes in interactions between past ice sheets and oceans. Through the analysis of different lithofacies characteristics, it reveals the evolution of ice sheets over the past approximately 2.4 million years. Sedimentation processes were influenced by turbidity currents and bottom currents differently during different glacial cycles, reflecting the oceanographic conditions and ice sheet dynamics at the time.

Summary: The study reveals that the nature of sediment varies with local topographic constraints, leading to different facies tracts, which is different from the phenomenon observed in many ancient systems worldwide.

Summary: The study focused on the fractionation of particles in deep-water sediment gravity flows, especially in experimental settings using coal and kaolin particles. The results show observable correlations between particle shape parameters, with circularity and roundness being dominant controls on shape variation. Additionally, differences in particle shape parameter distributions were observed in different areas within the experimental basin, especially in non-cohesive flow experiments.

Summary: This study provides insights into the formation and characteristics of deep-lacustrine hybrid event beds, as well as their implications in the prediction of such deposits in ancient deep-lacustrine fan settings.

Summary: The deposits of the upper Neoproterozoic Zerrissene Group in central-western Namibia represent a large siliciclastic deep-water depositional system, showcasing the intricacies of facies and architectural relationships and providing a new model for modern submarine fans.

Summary: The study explores the disequilibrium in submarine fan evolution through the analysis of Hybrid event beds (HEBs) in the West Qinling area. By conducting field investigations and petrographic analysis, five types of HEBs were identified, along with their distribution patterns in different environments of the submarine fan. The research also reveals the vertical distribution characteristics of HEBs and their impact on the transformation of mud-driven flow.

Summary: The study discusses the development of hybrid event beds in submarine lobes, focusing on the relationship between the character of hybrid bed facies and lobe architecture. Proximal to medial lobes exhibit different types of hybrid facies, while distal lobes mainly contain simpler hybrid facies. Lateral lobes have less vertical thickness of hybrid beds compared to frontal lobes, indicating significant differences in the evolution of hybrid beds between lateral and frontal lobes.

Summary: The study conducted a multi-proxy provenance analysis on deep-water and shallow-marine sandstones in the mid-Carboniferous Clare Basin, revealing a consistent source from the south and southwest, with some detritus recycled from Old Red Sandstone basins to the south. The provenance signal shows spatial and temporal variations across the basin due to fluctuations in the amount of recycled sediments and is linked with the evolving Variscan Orogenic Belt.

Summary: Highly efficient sediment gravity flows can bypass mid-fan channels and lobes and deposit significant volumes of sand, mud, and particulate organic matter in outer-fan and basin-plain settings. The study of the Serpukhovian to Bashkirian fill in the Shannon Basin in western Ireland reveals the preserved deposition features prior to mid-fan channels and lobes. Different flow transformation mechanisms impact mud distribution, bed geom-etries, larger scale bed stacking patterns, and stratigraphy.
