Summary: Cordycepin may help prevent hepatic metabolism in T1DM by regulating the expression of energy-related proteins and UPS to maintain cell survival, as observed in the study on streptozotocin-induced T1DM mice. The improvement in liver function with cordycepin treatment was related to changes in metabolic pathways and protein expression. Further research is needed to explore the therapeutic potential of cordycepin in metabolic mechanisms.

Summary: The study investigated the potential therapeutic effects of Thymoquinone (TYM) and Beta-aminoisobutyric acid (BAIBA) on diabetic cardiomyopathy (DCM). Results showed that TYM and BAIBA significantly improved pathological changes observed in the diabetes group, possibly due to their antihyperglycemic, antidiabetic, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory effects. This suggests that TYM and BAIBA have the potential to be used alone or in combination for treating DCM.

Summary: The study showed that Gliquidone can lower fasting blood glucose and increase insulin sensitivity in diabetic Sur1-- rats, mainly by increasing hepatic glycogen storage and decreasing gluconeogenesis. However, its effects were still weaker compared to metformin.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of a flavonoid-rich fraction of Monodora tenuifolia seed extract on blood parameters in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. The results showed that the extract significantly improved lipid profile, kidney functions, and cardiac biomarkers in diabetic rats, as well as increased HDL-cholesterol concentration. These findings suggest that the extract could be a potential treatment for diabetic nephropathy and cardiomyopathy.

Summary: The complex pathophysiology of stroke, such as oxidative stress and inflammatory reactions, presents substantial challenges for treatment. Thymoquinone (TQ), known for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, has poor solubility and bioavailability. In this in-vivo study, Thymoquinone niosome was used to overcome this challenge and demonstrated significant reduction in stroke-related damage, increased antioxidant activity, and decreased inflammation factors expression rates.

Summary: Hyperglycemia in diabetes mellitus can lead to oxidative stress and testicular tissue damage, resulting in male infertility. Traditional synthetic medicines for diabetes management are expensive and have adverse effects. Therefore, there is a need to find a safer and more affordable alternative from medicinal plants with antioxidants to alleviate reproductive dysfunction. This study investigated the beneficial effects of Anchomanes difformis extract on oxidative stress in the testes and epididymis of diabetic rats. The findings suggest that A. difformis extract could be a promising therapeutic agent for male infertility caused by diabetes complications.

Summary: Capsaicin exhibits significant hypoglycemic effects by activating the TRPV1 channel, which is lost when the channel is blocked. The hypoglycemic effect of capsaicin is partially attributed to the combined up-regulation of TRPV1 receptors and PDX-1.

Summary: This study investigated the thymoquinone content in black cumin seed oil and the thymoquinone yield per hectare. It also examined the agronomic properties, seed yield, and fatty acid composition of black cumin genotypes. Significant differences were observed in various agronomic characteristics and seed yield, and variations were observed in thymoquinone content under different climatic conditions. The genotypes with high thymoquinone content were classified as medicinal, while those with low thymoquinone content were classified as spice and food.

Summary: This study examined the effects of feed rate, temperature, and moisture content on the yield and thymoquinone content of black cumin seed oil extracted using a screw press. Optimal conditions were identified through a Box-Behnken design, which resulted in a yield of 22 wt% oil and 10 mg/mL thymoquinone content. Moisture played a significant role in both oil yield and thymoquinone content.
