Summary: This study aimed to identify predictors of Quality of Life (QoL) among older adults receiving community-based aged care services and examined variations across different service outlets. Results showed that factors such as older age, lower care needs, meeting needs for daily living activities assistance, and higher social participation were associated with higher QoL. Using QoL as an indicator to compare care quality may be feasible and beneficial for providers in monitoring performance and identifying clients in need of extra support.

Summary: The study analyzed data from Ohio's Prescription Drug Monitoring Program and found that over one million gabapentin prescriptions were dispensed in a 4-month period, with most cases of supratherapeutic dosing observed in individuals co-dispensed opioids. The Lorenz-1 value for gabapentin did not exceed the threshold for potential misuse, suggesting that there was no evidence of abuse based on PDMP data. New strategies may be needed to identify non-medical use of gabapentin.
