Summary: This paper presents a novel sensor fusion approach combined with a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM)-based algorithm for enhanced hand tracking in Virtual Reality (VR)-based Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). The system utilizes six Leap Motion controllers, two RealSense depth cameras, and two Myo armbands to capture multi-modal data, which is then processed using LSTM to accurately track complex hand movements in real-time. This proposed system provides a powerful tool for intuitive and immersive interactions in VR environments.

Summary: This study quantifies the influence of circuit capacitance (C) on the measurement results of PVDF piezoelectric sensors. The voltage output models in charge mode and current mode are established and verified. It is found that the influence of C on the output voltage is independent of PVDF area, piezoelectric constant, and loading rate in current mode, while in charge mode, it is determined by the ratio of C to total capacitance.

Summary: An adaptive multisensor fusion methodology is proposed for hand pose estimation using two Leap Motions. The methodology includes a registration-based self-calibration algorithm and two separate Kalman filters for adaptive sensor fusion in six degrees of freedom in space. The method enables stable and continuous hand pose estimation in real-time, even when a single sensor is unable to detect the hand, showing significant improvement in pose estimations.

Summary: Existing auto-focusing methods in laser processing typically include two independent modules, one for surface detection and another for [Formula: see text]-axis adjustment. To alleviate the slow processing speed, the researchers developed a single-lens approach that combines surface detection and focus control in a dual-beam setup. The approach provides instantaneous surface tracking and accelerates the axial alignment process, offering great potential for enhancing the speed of advanced manufacturing processes in three-dimensional space.
