Summary: This study investigated the molecular mechanisms of flower bud dormancy release in blueberries by analyzing transcriptomic data and hormone contents. The results showed differential expression of genes and significant involvement of metabolic processes, catalytic activity, and plant hormone signal transduction pathways. The content changes of different plant hormones were also found to be associated with bud dormancy release.

Summary: The transcriptome is a comprehensive reflection of gene expression in a sample. This study proposes a novel approach to understanding the regulatory relationships between transcription factors (TFs) and their target genes (mRNAs) by quantitatively analyzing the differences in their expression levels. By using a multi-input multi-output regression model, this study explores the quantitative transcription regulation relationships of metabolism-related genes. The findings suggest that certain genes can exhibit differential regulation patterns even when their expression levels do not differ significantly, and these "dark biomarkers" may have important implications for disease detection and classification.

Summary: In this study, the transcriptomes of the skin and brain tissues of red and black leopard coral grouper were sequenced using illumina sequencing technology, and the differentially expressed genes between the two body colors were analyzed. Significant differences in the expression levels of genes related to pigment synthesis were found, and the encoding gene of MITF was identified as related to pigment synthesis.

Summary: In this study, differentially expressed genes between ray and disc florets in chrysanthemum flowers were identified. Important regulatory genes controlling flower development and flowering determination were discovered. Transgenic Arabidopsis thaliana plants with these genes showed earlier flowering time but unaffected petal and stamen development. This study provides insights into the molecular mechanisms of flowering and potential applications in breeding new flower types.

Summary: In this study, a systematic analysis of trihelix transcription factors was conducted in the maize genome. It was found that 11 genes in this family were regulated by heat stress, and they were unevenly distributed on different chromosomes. Furthermore, variations in protein length, molecular weight, and isoelectric point were observed in the encoded proteins. The expression levels of ZmTHs were significantly altered under heat and drought stresses.

Summary: RNA sequencing was used to analyze the gene expression of Sclerotinia sclerotiorum during chickpea infection, revealing pathogenicity and developmental factors employed by the fungus during interaction with the host. The upregulated genes during infection of chickpea lines with different resistance levels included carbohydrate-active enzymes, secondary metabolite biosynthesis clusters, transcription factors, and candidate secreted effectors. These findings provide insights into the molecular interactions between S. sclerotiorum and hosts of varying susceptibility levels.

Summary: Atrial septal defects (ASDs) are commonly treated with interventional closure, but the molecular events and mechanisms underlying the repair process are still unknown. This study characterized differentially expressed genes in patients treated with metal or poly-L-lactic acid devices, showing significant differences in gene expression but some overlap in key regulatory genes. Gene ontology enrichment analysis revealed key pathways affected by different closure devices, with potential key regulatory genes identified for the repair progress of ASDs.

Summary: This study aims to uncover the metabolism-related genes and the underlying mechanisms responsible for bone metastatic prostate cancer (BMPCa). Through analyzing gene expression data of PCa and BM, 199 co-differential genes were identified. Three differentially expressed genes (DES, HBB, and SLPI) were selected by random forest classification model and cox regression model. The study found that DES is associated with the critical gene CRISP3 in BMPCa. By modulating lipid metabolism and maintaining immunological and microenvironmental balance, DES, HBB, and SLPI suppress prostate cancer cell growth.

Summary: By using microarray technology, 361 DEGs were identified in PBMC of PD patients and controls, with involvement in various biological processes and pathways, and validation of expression levels by RT-PCR. PD patients showed increased CD49d(+) Treg proportions, which correlated with disability scores. Upregulation of survival pathway genes might be a compensatory response to neuronal degeneration, with an association between survival and inflammation genes revealed through bioinformatics analysis.
