Summary: Lead is a major pollutant that harms animals and humans, and is found in the air, water, and soil. Naringin, a compound with antioxidant and metal chelating properties, offers protection against lead-induced anemia, cardio and nephrotoxicity, and hypertension. This study recommends incorporating naringin into poultry feed as a metal binder.

Summary: The study found that DIF induced cardiovascular toxicity in zebrafish embryos, resulting in decreased hatching rate, survival rate, heart rate, and increased malformation rate. DIF exacerbated oxidative stress, triggering cardiovascular apoptosis and inhibiting cardiac muscle contraction, which could be restored by the antioxidant N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC).

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis summarized the therapeutic benefits of naringin in various cardiovascular disorders. Naringin was found to alleviate cardiovascular conditions such as diabetic cardiomyopathy, ischemic heart diseases, and oxidative stress-induced cardiac injury through multiple mechanisms. The improvements were seen at both cellular and molecular levels.

Summary: Aluminum toxicity in acidic soils is a major factor limiting plant growth, but the use of phosphorus can alleviate its toxic effects. This study investigated the effects of phosphorus treatment and aluminum toxicity on the physiological and biochemical behavior of Spinacia oleracea L. It was found that phosphorus application reduced root aluminum content, while increasing leaf aluminum content under aluminum stress. Additionally, aluminum stress altered the activity of certain enzymes, but phosphorus treatment had no effect on SOD activity. Phosphorus treatment also lessened the impact of aluminum stress on MDA and H2O2 content.

Summary: Salinity is a global problem caused by irrigation with salty water, excessive fertilization, or poor leaching capacity in soils. Biostimulants, like corn steep liquor (CSL), can enhance salt tolerance in plants by reducing the uptake and accumulation of toxic ions. This study found that CSL application improved photosynthetic efficiency and reduced the generation of reactive oxygen species, resulting in reduced phytotoxicity and increased growth of pepper plants under saline conditions.

Summary: This study reveals that FeAB may induce oxidative stress in Daphnia, inhibiting their antioxidant system. Exposure to low concentrations of FeAB results in higher ROS/RNS levels, indicating antioxidant mechanism failure, while exposure to relatively high concentrations leads to reduced ROS/RNS levels possibly due to decreased production from cell damage.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of diazinon on fish and explored the potential protective effects of silymarin supplementation. Diazinon exposure caused liver damage in fish, but silymarin showed potential in reducing oxidative stress and restoring enzyme activities. However, the effectiveness of silymarin on creatine phosphokinase, glutathione reductase, and ammonia may be limited.
