Summary: Biological nitrogen fixation is crucial in the marine nitrogen cycle and affects global marine productivity and carbon fluxes. Two strains isolated from coastal sediment in Weihai, China were analyzed for gene annotation, growth conditions, and 16S rRNA gene sequences. It was revealed that these strains contain nitrogen fixation gene clusters. These novel strains represent new taxa of the Marinilabiliaceae family and have been proposed as Plebeiobacterium marinum gen. nov., sp. nov. and Plebeiobacterium sediminum sp. nov.

Summary: This study analyzed the phylogeny, ecology, and biogeography of the "marine Geitlerinema" cluster representatives and identified two subclusters with distinct distributions. The ecological and geographical diversity of the Sodalinema genus was expanded, leading to the proposal of three new species. Additionally, a new genus and species, Baaleninema simplex gen. et sp. nov., were described within the PCC7105 Glade, contributing to the clarification of the confusion surrounding the "marine Geitlerinema" group.

Summary: Two novel species of the genus Microvirga, Microvirga terricola sp. nov. (type strain c23 x 22(T) = GDMCC 1.1700(T) = KCTC 62432(T)) and Microvirga solisilvae sp. nov. (type strain sex2(T) = GDMCC 1.1651(T) = KACC 21311(T)), were isolated from forest soil in Guangdong Province and Hainan Province, China, respectively. They showed distinct morphological, genetic, and chemotaxonomic characteristics, and phylogenetic analysis supported their placement within the genus Microvirga.
