Summary: Various food safety and environmental problems in China have raised consumer awareness of food safety issues and negative environmental impacts. This research assessed consumer preferences and willingness to pay (WTP) for food safety and ecosystem delivery attributes associated with apples, demonstrated through the application of different traceability systems. The results indicated significant consumer preferences for traceability information, including in relation to lower pesticide usage and application of organic fertilizer during primary production. The models demonstrated heterogeneous preferences among participants, dividing them into three classes: non-price-sensitive (53.5%), pesticide-sensitive (21.7%), and price-sensitive (24.8%).

Summary: The study found that factors such as purchase price, fuel economy, annual taxation and insurance costs, driving range, engine power, country of manufacture, and the ability to remove the battery are statistically significant in influencing the choice between electric and petrol scooters in Italy. Despite government support, consumer preferences in Italy suggest that non-monetary factors and inadequate supply still limit the potential market share growth of electric scooters.

Summary: This study investigates the preferences for ready-to-eat pomegranate arils in Italy through a discrete choice experiment on young consumers and found that non-tasters attach significant value to reputational attributes, while the tasting experience reduces the value of these attributes. Tasters prefer products with high sweetness levels and low levels of sourness and astringency, showing a higher preference for sweetness. These findings provide insights into consumer behavior on new food products and suggest that sensory features can help reduce information asymmetry for new consumers.

Summary: This research highlights the importance of expanding strategies beyond bundling or hierarchical providing, and instead creating a location-based strategy that considers the interdependencies of ecosystem functions and processes across regions. A choice experiment survey was conducted in the Heihe River Basin to assess spatial heterogeneity based on willingness to pay (WTP) for upgrading environmental attributes. The findings reveal heterogeneous preferences among individuals regarding the upgradation of environmental attributes, as well as the influence of distance on individuals' WTP for restoring degraded environmental attributes.

Summary: Drone delivery services introduce new consumer privacy risks, but these risks can be reduced by offering privacy enhancements. This study measures the importance of privacy risks to delivery service customers, their willingness to pay for privacy, and how this differs across consumer groups and product types. The results show that privacy enhancements significantly increase the likelihood of consumers choosing drone delivery, with males and frequent e-commerce users more likely to prefer drone regardless of privacy.

Summary: This article presents the findings of a study on the acceptance of a deposit-refund system for animal manure by German livestock farmers. The system involves farmers supplying slurry to a biogas plant and receiving a deposit refund if they take back the same quantity of nutrients. The study found a high willingness to participate in the system, with an average probability of 70% and 73% of nutrients being taken back. Low deposit rates and complimentary services, such as free slurry storage and digestate spreading, were effective in encouraging farmer participation.
