Summary: Based on electronic metal-support interaction (EMSI), a gold single atom confined MXene (AuSA/MXene) heterostructure was developed as a highly efficient electrochemiluminescence (ECL) functional material, which improved the electrochemical properties and expanded the sensing application of MXenes. The AuSA/MXene heterostructure exhibited high catalytic activity and electrical activity, enabling the construction of a high-efficiency ECL sensor for specific substance detection.

Summary: In this study, a new ECL biosensor with high anti-interference capacity was developed using carbonized polydopamine nanotubes (C-DPANTs). The C-PDANTs enhanced both cathodic and anodic luminol ECL and significantly reduced interference caused by reactive oxygen species (ROS). By integrating cholesterol oxidase (ChOx) with C-PDANTs, the ECL biosensor demonstrated sensitive and selective detection of cholesterol.

Summary: Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) microscopy is a new technique used for imaging single entities and cells. In this study, a bimodal and bicolor approach was developed to record both positive ECL (PECL) and shadow label-free ECL (SECL) images of single cells. This dual approach enables the imaging of cell morphology and can contribute to multimodal ECL imaging and bioassays.

Summary: n-Si/SiOx/Ni photoanodes were studied for upconversion photoinduced electrochemiluminescence (PECL) in a 3-aminophthalhydrazide (luminol)-hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) model electrochemiluminescent (ECL) system at pH 13. The photoanode exhibited PECL emission at 440 nm when excited at 850 nm, showing an anti-Stokes shift of -410 nm at biases above 0 V vs Ag/AgCl. The alkaline pH value of the electrolyte prevented Ni dissolution, resulting in a longer active period (several hours) compared to similar photoanodes operating at neutral pH.

Summary: An ultrasensitive and selective electrochemiluminescence (ECL) aptasensor with Au-tetrahedral aptamer nanostructure (Au-TAN) was developed for acetamiprid detection. By optimizing the pH of the buffer solution, the concentration of H2O2, and the concentration of Au-TAN, a detection limit lower than other sensors was achieved. The weak alkaline environment explored in the experiment further expanded the application range of the sensor, showing high accuracy and sensitivity.

Summary: A novel sandwich electrochemiluminescence aptasensor was developed for highly sensitive detection of kanamycin. The aptasensor used PAMAM, molybdenum disulfide, and multi-walled carbon nanotubes as the substrate to improve the ECL intensity. The sandwiched aptasensor formed between aptamer1 and aptamer2 resulted in a proportional increase of ECL intensity. The aptasensor exhibited a wide linear range and low detection limit.

Summary: Vesicles, such as multilamellar vesicles obtained from sodium bis(2-ethylhexyl) sulfosuccinate (AOT), were found to significantly enhance the electrochemiluminescence (ECL) performance. These vesicles could improve the electron transfer and reaction rate, as well as the stability of intermediate species, leading to enhanced ECL signals. The versatility of vesicle-modified microenvironment for ECL signal amplification was further verified using dodecyl dimethyl(3-sulfopropyl) ammonium hydroxide inner salt (DSB)-based vesicle.
