Summary: The purpose of this study is to analyze individuals' willingness to pay (WTP) for energy policies, specifically the facilitating and sanctioning instruments. Four theoretical frameworks were used to study the factors that influence WTP. The results showed that WTP for sanctioning instruments was lower than that for facilitating instruments. Values, trust, and norms were found to be significant predictors of WTP for both types of policy instruments, while economic factors only influenced WTP for sanctioning instruments.

Summary: This study examines the impact of both natural and perceived quality of urban parks on nearby housing values in downtown Tianjin. The results show that high perceived quality of urban parks can increase the willingness of residents to pay higher prices for houses located nearby. Additionally, perceived quality, specifically the naturalness dimension, has a positive influence on property values, while other perceived factors do not significantly affect residents' willingness to pay.

Summary: The majority of Italian buildings do not meet adequate aseismic design standards and are at risk of earthquakes. Seismic retrofitting plays a crucial role in reducing vulnerability and generating market price premiums for retrofitted buildings. This paper estimates the market price premiums of seismically retrofitted buildings in Italy using a survey-based method.

Summary: This paper analyzes the economic valuation implications of the provision of public goods, considering the impact of institutional distrust on choice set formation. A semi-compensatory hybrid choice set formation model is proposed to differentiate between budget constraints and ID-induced choice set formation effects on welfare estimates. The study shows that ignoring institutional trust issues can significantly impact project evaluations, especially in environments perceived to be corrupt.

Summary: This study investigated the preferences of consumers for capture and culture fishes, finding that the capture fish had higher quality but lower availability and control, leading to higher market prices; although consumers preferred the capture fish for its freshness and price, the culture fish was also popular due to its larger size. Factors influencing consumer willingness to pay more for capture fish included average price, firmness, and household family size, while increased belly swelling led to decreased market prices.

Summary: Recent research in social psychology suggests that personally held beliefs may significantly influence individuals' acceptance of environmental policy. This study explores the role of cultural worldview in individuals' support for and valuation of environmental policies, finding that cultural worldview and the cause of environmental degradation can impact willingness to pay estimates for management action. The study also examines the potential endogeneity in ex-post perceived survey consequentiality and willingness to pay measures, noting that cultural worldviews and the framing of environmental policy scenarios can affect the relationship between the randomly assigned payment instrument and consequentiality.
