Summary: In this study, silica-coated magnetic nanoparticles functionalized with second-generation polyamidoamine dendrimer were synthesized and used for the magnetic solid-phase extraction of estradiol valerate from biological samples. The nanocomposite demonstrated good performance and exhibited a wide linear dynamic range and a low limit of detection. The estradiol valerate was successfully extracted from human plasma samples.

Summary: The dried Cystoseria myricaas algae collected from the Persian Gulf was used as a substrate for nanocellulose extraction. Fe3O4, Fe3O4@SiO2, Fe3O4@SiO2-NH2-GO, and Fe3O4@SiO2-NH2-GO-NC were synthesized and characterized. Isotherm and kinetic modeling were investigated for all synthesized compounds as adsorbents. The Hg (II) removal was predicted using the RSM model.

Summary: Fipronil, a commonly used insecticide in agriculture, can potentially enter the food chain and pose health risks. This study developed a molecularly imprinted polymer-based method for the targeted determination of fipronil in milk samples. The optimal experimental conditions were determined using response surface methodology, and the MIP was characterized using various techniques. The method showed selective determination of fipronil with high recovery and low detection limit.

Summary: Incorporating Ag nanoparticles into core-shell Fe3O4@SiO2 offers promising opportunities for biomedical applications. Fe3O4@SiO2-Ag nanoparticles were successfully synthesized using seed-mediated growth methods. The synthesized composite nanoparticles exhibited good crystallinity and a core-shell structure. The nanocomposites also showed superparamagnetic properties and surface plasmon resonance absorption. Moreover, the Fe3O4@SiO2-Ag nanoparticles demonstrated potential antibacterial activity and cytotoxicity against cancer cells, indicating their potential as antibacterial agents and anticancer drug carriers.

It was employed for separation of Cd(II) ions and showed good extraction efficiency, with a linear calibration graph achieved in the concentration range of 0.2-30 ng center dot mL(-1).

Summary: A nanocomposite of graphene quantum dots/UiO-66 metal-organic framework was synthesized through a solvothermal method, exhibiting enhanced photocatalytic activity in peroxidase mimetic-based fluorescence analysis of H2O2. By developing a fluorescent biosensor, a linear relationship between fluorescence intensity and cholesterol concentration was utilized for indirect determination of cholesterol, showing promising results for cholesterol quantification in human serum samples.
