Summary: To address the health risks of aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) contaminated foods, a label-free aptasensor was developed for dual-mode colorimetric/fluorometric detection of AFB1. The aptasensor showed a color change from yellow to gray in the presence of AFB1 due to the aggregation of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). Additionally, the fluorescence signal was enhanced by using arginine-modified light-emitting gold nanoclusters (AuNCs), resulting in a more sensitive detection of AFB1. The aptasensor demonstrated good response to AFB1 concentration in the range of 5-400 ng/mL with a detection limit of 1.91 ng/mL.

Summary: In this study, a miRNA detection strategy based on the self-assembly of AuNPs induced by the hairpin probe-guided DNAzyme walker enzyme cleavage and walk was established. This strategy utilizes the continuous mechanical motion characteristics of DNAzyme walker to improve reaction efficiency and achieves ultra-sensitive detection using dynamic light scattering technology. It has also been successfully applied to analyze target miRNAs in cancer cell samples.

Summary: A probe 3 that selectively responds to Cr2O72- and Fe3+ was reported in this study. The probe was studied for its selectivity, pH titration, concentration titration, detection limit, time dependence, quenching constant, and recognition mechanism in a CH3CN/HEPES buffer solution. The results showed that Cr2O72- and Fe3+ could rapidly quench the fluorescence of probe 3 through the inner filter effect (IFE). Probe 3 exhibited detection limits lower than the maximum allowable concentrations in drinking water stipulated by EPA, indicating its potential as a detection tool in practical applications.

Summary: A UV-Visible and fluorescence detection method was designed for the determination of acetamiprid based on the specific identification ability of aptamers. The presence of acetamiprid could be clearly determined through the aggregation of gold nanoparticles and the redshifting of the UV-vis absorption peak. This combined method showed a wide detection range and a low detection limit, making it a potential simple method for the determination of acetamiprid residues in natural water bodies.
