Summary: The study examined the expression patterns of mRNAs and miRNAs in exosomes derived from Alzheimer's disease (AD) and healthy mice, finding differential expression of 1320 mRNAs and 29 miRNAs between the two groups. Key genes such as Chi3l1 and Rhog were validated to be dysregulated in AD mice, along with miR-148a-5p and miR-27a-5p. GO and KEGG analysis helped determine the functions of the differentially expressed mRNAs and potential target genes of miRNAs. Through the ceRNA hypothesis, an integrated ceRNA network of circRNA-lncRNA-miRNA-mRNA was established, indicating the involvement of exosomal lncRNAs, mRNAs, circRNAs, and miRNAs in the progression of AD, potentially serving as biomarkers and therapeutic targets.

Summary: This study reveals that circPDK1 plays a crucial role in pancreatic cancer by modulating the miR-628-3p/BPTF axis and degrading BIN1. CircPDK1 is highly expressed in pancreatic tumor tissues and serum exosomes and is associated with poor survival. Exosomal circPDK1 promotes pancreatic cancer cell proliferation, migration, and glycolysis. Moreover, circPDK1 enhances the interaction between UBE2O and BIN1, leading to the UBE2O-mediated degradation of BIN1.

Summary: This study demonstrates the potential regulatory effects of porcine milk small extracellular vesicles (PM-sEVs) on intestinal immunity by promoting intestinal secretory immunoglobulin A (SIgA) levels and increasing expression of the polymeric immunoglobulin receptor (pIgR). Circ-XPO4 in PM-sEVs acts as a crucial circRNA in promoting pIgR expression by suppressing miR-221-5p in intestinal cells. These findings provide valuable insights into the role and mechanism of milk-derived sEVs in intestinal immunity.

Summary: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a leading cause of death worldwide. Exosomes and non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) have been shown to play important roles in cardiac physiology and pathology, with potential therapeutic and biomarker applications. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the recent understanding of exosomes and ncRNAs in CVDs and discusses strategies for their therapeutic intervention and biomarker potential.

Summary: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common form of cancer worldwide, and cancer stem cells (CSCs) play a crucial role in its development. CircRNAs derived from exosomes are enriched in liver cancer CSCs and are associated with HCC development and prognosis. This finding supports the use of circRNAs as prognostic indicators for HCC patients and highlights the signaling between liver CSCs and exosomal messenger molecules.

Summary: Cigarette smoke is a major risk factor for gastric cancer, and exosomes play a crucial role in the communication system between cells and organs, carrying circRNA and other components that regulate the occurrence and development of gastric cancer. This study aims to investigate the impact of cigarette smoke on exosomes and exosomal circRNA in promoting gastric cancer. The findings suggest that cigarette smoke-induced exosomes from gastric cancer cells promote gastric cancer development by affecting the surrounding gastric mucosal epithelial cells.

Summary: Exosomes are small vesicles used for cell-to-cell communication in various diseases, while circRNAs are a type of non-coding RNA that controls gene expression through mechanisms like miRNA sponging. Research suggests that exo-circRNAs, due to their stability, could have significant regulatory functions in disease treatment.
