Summary: This study found that miR-124-3p has a protective effect on acute lung injury (ALI) by inhibiting the TLR4/NF-kappa B signaling pathway, and miR-124-3p directly targets PDE4B to suppress this signaling pathway.

Summary: MiR-124-3p was found to exert anti-tumor effects in prostatic carcinoma by targeting PTGS2 to inactivate the AKT/NF-kappa B pathway, which suppressed cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and enhanced apoptosis. This suggests that miR-124-3p may serve as a potential therapeutic target for the treatment of prostatic carcinoma.

Summary: Chronic inflammation is associated with the development of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), where resistin, an inflammatory cytokine, plays a role in promoting tumor metastasis. High resistin levels in NPC patients are positively correlated with lymph node metastasis, and resistin induces epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) to facilitate metastasis. The TLR4/p38 MAPK/NF-kappa B signaling pathways are involved in resistin-mediated promotion of NPC metastasis.

Summary: By screening and analyzing the nasopharyngeal carcinoma dataset, this study investigated the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in NPC development through differential analysis and cytological validation. The downregulation of miR-26b in NPC was observed, along with its impact on cell behavior such as increased proliferation and migration, and reduced apoptosis. The downstream target gene CEP135 was identified and found to activate the NF-kappa B pathway, leading to enhanced cell activity and inhibition of apoptosis. This study provides insight into the biological behavior of NPC and suggests new therapeutic options.

Summary: NEAT1 silencing suppressed LPS-induced BEAS-2B cells injury and inflammation via the mediation of miR-155-5p/MyD88/NF-kappa B axis, while overexpression of miR-155-5p increased cell proliferation and suppressed inflammatory factors expression levels and cell apoptosis.

Summary: MicroRNAs miR-15a-5p and miR-199a-3p are significantly decreased in aortic and carotid samples from atherosclerosis patients and mice. Overexpression of these miRNAs can reduce inflammation and progression of atherosclerosis. MiR-15a-5p may serve as a novel diagnostic biomarker for advanced atherosclerosis.

Summary: Experimental results showed that miR-124 was downregulated in liver fibrosis tissues and TNF-alpha-induced LX-2 cells, and its overexpression and knockdown of IQGAP1 could lead to the downregulation of TNF-alpha, IL-1 beta and IL-6. Moreover, miR-124 targeted the 3 '-UTR of IQGAP1 and inhibited its expression, potentially regulating the NF-kappa B signaling pathway in response to TNF-alpha.

Summary: The study revealed that cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) infiltrated in radiation-resistant NPC tissues induced radioresistance and promoted NPC cell survival post-irradiation via the IL-8/NF-κB pathway. Treatment with Tranilast, a CAF inhibitor, restricted the survival of CAF-induced NPC cells and alleviated radioresistance properties, suggesting the potential value of Tranilast in sensitizing NPC cells to irradiation.

Summary: The study showed that upregulation of AHNAK2 in thyroid carcinoma tissues, especially in metastatic ones, is associated with poor prognosis. Knockdown of AHNAK2 inhibited thyroid carcinoma migration, invasion, and metastasis by reducing activation of the NF-kappa B pathway. This provides a novel target for treating metastatic thyroid carcinoma.
