In this paper, SiC ceramic coatings were prepared by laser pyrolysis of polysilazane (PSZ). XRD, SEM, and TEM were used to analyze the microstructure and morphology of the ceramics. It was confirmed that the main component of the coatings prepared by laser pyrolysis was SiC, of face-centered cubic structure. The pyrolysis of organic precursors at different laser power was analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The elemental analysis of SiC was carried out with an energy dispersive spectrometer. The process of ceramic transformation was discussed, and the preparation of SiC ceramic coatings on the metal surface was achieved. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
