Different doping concentration of Cu2+ (1-5%) with PVP surfactant CdS nanoparticle prepared by chemical precipitated method. The structure and shape of synthesized nanoparticle analyzed by XRD and TEM. The XRD analysis has been calculated the particle size (2-4.7 nm) and lattice strain by the William - Hall plot. The functional groups of the capping agent have been identified by FT-IR study. The confirmation of dopant Cu2+ ions, average g - value (2.09) and covalency parameter is calculated by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy. UV-vis spectroscopy exhibit the blue shift in PVP capped CdS:Cu nanoparticle due to quantum confinement effect. The PL spectrum shows single broad emission peak centered at 479 nm. The magnetic properties of sample have been studied using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). Thermal stability and decomposition of nanoparticle have been studied by TG-DTA. In addition, electrochemical properties of Cu doped CdS nanoparticle carried out by cyclic voltammetry (CV) for optoelectronic applications. (C) 2016 Elsevier GmbH. All rights reserved.
