Summary: The study found that AEG-1 is overexpressed in glioma tissues, and its silencing can increase the sensitivity of glioma cells to TMZ and promote DNA damage. Silencing AEG-1 can also reduce M2 polarization of microglia and decrease the secretion of tumor supportive cytokines IL-6 and TGF-beta 1.

Summary: The study found that elevated levels of Wnt2 and Wnt4 in the serum of AMI patients were associated with adverse outcomes. Wnt2 and Wnt4 promote cardiac fibrosis by activating the beta-catenin/NF-kappa B signaling pathway, potentially impacting the cardiac function of AMI patients.

Summary: This study revealed that AEG-1 acts as an RNA-binding protein to regulate TWIK-1 expression in normal astrocytes. Experimental evidence confirmed that AEG-1 modulates TWIK-1 mRNA stability by binding directly to TWIK-1 mRNA.

Summary: Chemotherapy is a major treatment for cancers, but cancer cells often develop resistance through genetic and epigenetic alterations, allowing them to adapt to environmental stresses and treatment pressures. The oncogene AEG-1 plays a significant role in promoting tumorigenesis and chemoresistance in various cancers. Understanding the molecular mechanisms of AEG-1 could provide insights into overcoming chemoresistance in aggressive cancers.

Summary: TLR4 and Cx43 signaling are involved in the development of neuropathic pain. In this study, it was found that TLR4 signaling is associated with the expression of MCP-1, CXCL1, and Cx43 in LPS-treated rat dorsal spinal cord astrocytes. Activation of TLR4 led to the activation of NF-kappa B and AP-1, resulting in the expression of MCP-1, CXCL1, and Cx43. Furthermore, Cx43 hemichannel activity increased and released MCP-1 and CXCL1.

Summary: This study aimed to elucidate the function and mechanism of AEG-1 in neurons by constructing a stable AEG-1-deficient HT22 neuronal cell line. The results revealed that AEG-1 regulates neuronal morphology and development by modulating the expression of several genes. AEG-1 deficiency also impacts multiple signaling pathways involved in cell survival, differentiation, apoptosis, migration, as well as cellular ion homeostasis. These findings provide insights into AEG-1-dependent gene regulation and signaling pathway transduction in neurons, improving our understanding of AEG-1-associated central nervous system diseases.

Summary: This study evaluated the suppressive effect of Wnt signaling inhibitor, Wnt-C59, in the kidneys, lungs, and livers of endotoxemic mice as a model of sepsis. Wnt-C59 improved survival rate, reduced proinflammatory cytokine levels and organ damage biomarkers, and inhibited Wnt/beta-catenin pathway, leading to suppression of NF-kappa B activity and cytokine upregulation in multiple organs, suggesting its potential use in treating sepsis-related multiple-organ dysfunction.

Summary: LvRap2a, a homolog of Rap2a from shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei, has been identified and shown to play a crucial role in shrimp growth. LvRap2a was found to be regulated by the Wnt signaling pathway and involved in the crosstalk between innate immunity and growth. These findings provide important insights and potential targets for promoting shrimp growth.
