A nanoporous Mo film was prepared by dealloying an immiscible Mo-Zn system. The successful dealloying was due to the long-distance diffusion of Mo atoms (similar to 600 nm) in the nanocrystalline Zn layer during annealing. The obtained NPMF exhibited a good activity toward hydrogen evolution reaction, with a Tafel slope of 85 mV dec(-1).
