The end of wide local excision (WLE) margins for melanoma ?

Summary: Is there any benefit of continuing routine wide local excision (WLE) for primary stage I/II cutaneous melanoma? A review found no solid prospective evidence to support the use of WLE as a routine approach for completely excised primary cutaneous melanoma. It is recommended to conduct a prospective randomized trial to compare the classical 2-step approach with WLE to abolish the routine practice of WLE in the future.

However, recent research suggests that there is still room for improvement in satellite altimetry performance. Reduced uncertainties would enable regional detection and attribution of sea-level change and improve estimates of ocean heat uptake.

Examining the role of wide excision margins in pediatric melanoma: A National Cancer Database analysis

How Wide Is Enough? Effects of Screen Height, Task Type, and Hand Length on Rollable Display Requirements

Summary: The study found that as screen height increased, the preferred screen width also increased, but the preferred screen aspect ratio decreased. Users with longer hand lengths tended to prefer wider screens. Using a 120mm rollable screen with a 2:1 screen aspect ratio was recommended to meet user needs for three mobile tasks.

Assessing Rates of Positive Surgical Margins After Standard Excision of Vulvar Melanomas

Peritumoral TILs and PD-1 expressions may predict a better response to DPCP.

Adjuvant systemic therapy is not routinely recommended for most patients with AJCC stage IIIA melanoma. The indications for SNB in some patients with early-stage melanoma need to be reevaluated.
