Summary: This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of apigenin on gentamicin-induced nephrotoxicity. The results showed that apigenin administration could alleviate kidney impairments, enhance antioxidant capacity, and suppress renal inflammation and apoptosis. The findings suggest that apigenin treatment may be beneficial in alleviating gentamicin-induced renal impairments.

Summary: The study aimed to investigate the hepatotoxic effects of noise and toluene, as well as the simultaneous exposure to both substances, through histopathological and biochemical experiments. Non-simultaneous exposure to noise and toluene led to increased liver enzymes and certain serum levels, while simultaneous exposure resulted in further changes in enzyme levels and liver tissue damage.

Summary: Genkwanin (GNK) has the potential to treat Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) induced hepatotoxicity due to its antioxidative and anti-inflammatory effects. The study showed that co-administration of GNK and AFB1 significantly improved liver damage caused by AFB1 in rats, including improved biochemical markers, reduced oxidative stress, and inflammation.

Summary: This study investigated the activity of naringin in oxaliplatin-induced hepatorenal toxicity. The results showed that naringin has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, and can alleviate oxidative stress, inflammation, and cell apoptosis in liver and kidney tissues induced by oxaliplatin. Furthermore, naringin can reduce endoplasmic reticulum stress caused by oxaliplatin.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of flavonoid osajin (OSJ) on liver damage caused by sepsis. The results showed that sepsis induced elevated lipid peroxidation level and catalase activity and decreased glutathione level and superoxide dismutase activity in hepatic tissues. However, administration of OSJ significantly reduced lipid peroxidation level and increased glutathione level and superoxide dismutase activity. Furthermore, OSJ also reduced the expression of interleukin-33 and caspase-3 and improved histopathological integrity. In conclusion, OSJ has a hepatoprotective effect against sepsis-induced liver injury.

Summary: In this study, the therapeutic effect of galangin nanoparticles with antioxidant activities on acetaminophen-induced liver toxicity was evaluated. The results showed that galangin nanoparticles reduced liver enzyme levels, improved hepatocyte damage, and preserved liver tissue structure, thereby alleviating acetaminophen-induced hepatotoxicity.

Summary: This study assessed the toxic effects of acetamiprid on Xenopus laevis and found that it had detrimental effects on the liver, causing oxidative stress and histological damage. Metabolomic analysis revealed disrupted metabolic pathways, indicating the hepatotoxic effects of acetamiprid on X. laevis at a molecular level. These findings are crucial for evaluating the aquatic risks of neonicotinoids.

Summary: This study investigated the hepatic damages caused by exposure to acephate, carbendazim, and mancozeb in juvenile rats. The exposure led to increased DNA damage and activation of the xenobiotic biotransformation system. Interestingly, the ternary mixture did not exacerbate adverse effects, suggesting a possible antagonistic chemical interaction among the three agrochemicals.

Summary: The study examined the renal toxicity induced by intravenously injected iron oxide nanoparticles encapsulated in phospholipid-based polymeric micelles on CD1 mice. The results suggest that oxidative stress may play a role in the induced toxicity, but the kidney defense systems are capable of efficiently reverting the biochemical modifications.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the impact of environmentally relevant concentrations of aspirin on the liver of Labeo rohita. The results showed that aspirin caused significant alterations in biochemical parameters, such as antioxidant enzyme activity and lipid peroxidation, as well as histopathological changes in the liver. These findings suggest that aspirin has toxic effects on fish and could be used as potential indicators of pharmaceutical toxicity in environmental biomonitoring.

Summary: This study aims to evaluate the different effects of copper oxide nanoparticles and ionic copper on the digestive glands and gills of mussels. The results show that both copper forms induce oxidative stress. Further research is needed to clarify the genotoxic and neurotoxic effects of copper oxide nanoparticles and ionic copper on freshwater mussels and other biota.
