The key to preparing all-solid-state lithium batteries lies in the preparation method of solid-state electrolytes and their compatibility with mature technologies. Researchers used an infiltration method to prepare a high ionic conductivity LICSCE film and successfully assembled ASSLBs.
All-solid-state Li batteries (ASSLBs) have attracted more and more attention due to their potential energy density and safety benefits. For practical application, searching for a preparation method of solid-state electrolyte that is compatible with mature Li-ion-batteries technologies and enable scale-up production is important. In this work, an infiltration method is proposed for the preparation of Li3InCl6/glass-fiber solid composite electrolyte (LICSCE) film. Roll pressing method is adopted to obtain compact LIC-SCE with good mechanical strength, showing great promising to roll-to-roll manufacture platform. The LIC-SCE shows a high ionic conductivity of 5.4x10- 4 S cm-1 at room temperature. Further, ASSLBs are successfully assembled with LiCoO2 (LCO) cathode.
