Summary: This study investigated the effects of dietary supplementation of Radix rehmanniae preparata polysaccharide (RRPP) on the growth performance, meat quality, and physiological responses of broiler chickens. The results showed that incorporating RRPP at concentrations of 600 and 900 mg/kg improved the broiler chicken's body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, and European production efficiency index. Furthermore, dietary RRPP led to changes in serum biochemical parameters and gut physiology, as well as increased tibia ash content in broiler chickens.

Summary: This study investigated the therapeutic effects of TS, a traditional Chinese medicine, on sensorineural hearing loss. Both in vitro and in vivo experiments showed that TS protected against damage to hair cells and improved auditory function. Furthermore, TS regulated genes associated with hearing loss. These findings suggest that TS holds promise as a potential treatment for SNHL.

Summary: Recent study showed that Rehmanniae Radix Preparata and Corni Fructus could exert synergistic effects on chronic kidney disease by modulating the composition and metabolic profiles of intestinal flora. The abundance of beneficial bacteria was increased, while that of opportunistic pathogens was decreased after the treatment, impacting metabolic pathways related to CKD. These findings suggest that gut flora and metabolites may play a crucial role in CKD progression, providing a potential target for the development of novel therapies.

Summary: The structures and immunomodulatory activities of two polysaccharides from Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata were investigated. Both SDH-WA and SDH-0.2A showed no cytotoxic effects on RAW264.7 cells, but significantly promoted phagocytic activity and improved lysozyme activity. They also dose-dependently stimulated the production of TNF-alpha and IL-6, while attenuating the secretion of various immune factors by lipopolysaccharide-induced RAW264.7 cells.
