Summary: The technology of microbial electrosynthesis (MES) offers opportunities and challenges in converting CO2 into valuable products, requiring collaboration across multiple disciplines. Future efforts will focus on designing efficient reactors for biocatalysts, while leveraging lessons learned from other fields to improve performance. Research into robust and adaptable biocatalysts will be necessary as the technology evolves into larger and more efficient configurations.

Summary: Early intervention with systemic therapy for psoriasis has the potential to modify the disease course and reduce the risk of long-term adverse outcomes. However, there are several potential issues that need to be considered, including defining what constitutes early intervention, determining the appropriate patient population, defining success criteria, and basing intervention on high-level evidence.

Summary: According to the World Health Organization, falls are the second leading cause of unintentional injury deaths worldwide, especially among older people. Research has found that pervasive fall detection and alerting apps using smartphone accelerometers can achieve real-time detection. However, these studies have limitations in their experimental set-ups and may not fully represent falls in daily life.

Summary: Background: Over the past 25 years, research has shown that short-course antibiotic treatments are as effective as long-course treatments for common bacterial infections. Objective: This study aimed to determine whether clinical data supports the use of shorter antibiotic durations for 7 common infections. Content: The study found that, in most cases, short-course treatments were just as effective as long-course treatments, except for patients with bone and joint infections or those requiring surgical debridement.

Summary: We reviewed field experiments simulating drought and found that ecosystem sensitivity to drought increases with aridity, while plant traits associated with aridity are not determinants of drought resistance. As drought magnitude or duration increases to extreme levels, plants may shift from drought tolerance to drought escape/avoidance strategies. More experiments are needed to address alterations in drought characteristics, changes in drivers of drought, and the recovery periods after drought.
