Summary: We present a learning-based system that can estimate the camera position and orientation from a single input image relative to a known environment. The system is flexible in terms of the available information during testing and training, catering to different applications. The system can take either RGB-D or RGB images as inputs and can utilize a 3D model of the environment for training, but it is not necessary. The system achieves state-of-the-art accuracy on various public datasets for RGB-based re-localization and competitive accuracy for RGB-D based re-localization.

Summary: This paper proposes a novel synchronization method for synchronizing an arbitrary number of RealSense cameras by adjusting the number of hosts. It establishes a master-slave architecture to synchronize system clocks, minimizing synchronization delays and ensuring cameras connected to different hosts can be synchronized based on data timestamps.

Summary: RGB-D cameras are commonly used in 3D reconstruction and computer vision, but calibration errors can affect alignment. In this work, we propose a novel strategy that simplifies calibration by using a known-sized ordinary object as a calibration reference, requiring fewer images and achieving comparable results even in non-ideal conditions.

Summary: The study identifies non-neglectable errors in camera pose estimation methods, leading to visual artifacts in textured 3D meshes. As a solution, a texture mapping method based on depth data from RGB-D images is proposed to significantly improve the quality of the generated textured 3D meshes.

Summary: Spatially varying coefficient models are used to analyze spatial data with varying covariate effects. This paper proposes a new variable selection approach for Gaussian process-based SVC models, which is validated through simulation and real-world data analysis. The proposed approach yields sparser models and achieves better performance compared to classical maximum likelihood estimation.

Summary: This research presents a new image-based uncalibrated visual servoing control approach called hybrid-IBUVS, which combines a hybrid visual configuration and an adaptive tracking controller. The approach utilizes eye-in-hand and fixed red-green-blue-depth cameras and incorporates multiobject detection and edge-computing technologies. Adaptive laws are also proposed to estimate the uncalibrated parameters of the cameras and robot dynamics. The effectiveness of the proposed scheme is demonstrated through experimental results, and the convergence of the control scheme is rigorously proven using Lyapunov stability theory.

Summary: Sitting balance is crucial for motor control, especially for individuals who cannot stand. Traditional clinical assessment methods for sitting balance are subjective, imprecise, and time-consuming. The aim of this study is to develop an improved system for assessing sitting balance in clinical settings. By utilizing an RGB-D camera system, we designed a software tool that tracks human movement during sitting balance assessment, and our results demonstrate that our approach can accurately track body movements and offer advantages over existing observational methods.

Summary: This research proposes an online fill level measurement method for disc pelletizers using an RGB-D camera. The method utilizes background depth data subtraction and automatic granular area identification to obtain 3D point cloud data of the granular area and calculates the fill level in real time using a proportion conversion algorithm. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the method.
