Summary: The study indicates that the sandstone reservoir of the Tithonian Jeanne d'Arc Formation in the Terra Nova oilfield underwent early dolomite cementation and subsequent diagenetic events, playing a significant role in controlling reservoir quality. The diagenetic processes were influenced by depositional settings, with cycles of early dolomite cementation and subsequent events controlling the sandstone porosity structure and quality.

Summary: Remarkable control can be achieved over the chemical composition and structure of crystalline calcium carbonate by driving a pseudomorphic transformation of amorphous calcium carbonate thin films using heat. This has relevance to both synthetic and biological systems.

Summary: The study examines the impact of carbonate content on the thermal behavior of geopolymers by calcining various mixtures at different temperatures. By controlling the available alkaline earth cations, it is possible to predict the shrinkage of geopolymer materials during thermal treatment. Different calcium and magnesium silicates can be formed based on the composition of the mixtures, resulting in varying shrinkage values.

Summary: Constructing geocellular models of carbonate rocks is challenging due to the unpredictable distribution of rock properties and strong influence of diagenetic processes. This study successfully created a geocellular model using integrated sedimentological, petrophysical, diagenetic, and structural information, demonstrating a workflow for accurately representing flow controlling facies and diagenetically altered poroperm and fracture networks.

Summary: This study investigated the flotation behaviors and adsorption of 2-(4-Butoxyphenyl)acetohydroxamic acid (BAHA) on rhodochrosite, calcite, and dolomite. The results showed that rhodochrosite had better floatability and higher BAHA adsorption compared to calcite and dolomite. The interaction mechanisms between BAHA and mineral surfaces were responsible for the differences in the adsorption and floatability of rhodochrosite and gangue minerals.

Summary: Recent laboratory experiments have shown that microbes have the potential to solve the mystery of ancient dolomite formation. However, the characteristics of laboratory-grown dolomite crystals do not match those of ancient dolomite, making it difficult to support this hypothesis from a mineralogical and petrological perspective. The involvement of microbes in the formation of ancient dolomite is implied, but their ability to mediate dolomite diagenesis has not been investigated.

Summary: Uncrewed aerial vehicles are commonly used for hyperspectral imaging, but mostly in nadir imaging orientations. Oblique hyperspectral imaging is hindered by the lack of robust registration and correction protocols. In this paper, a novel correction methodology and toolbox are proposed for accurate production of hyperspectral data acquired by UAVs, without any restrictions on view angles or target geometry. The importance of these corrections is demonstrated through the first fully corrected oblique SWIR drone-survey.

Summary: This study integrates fracture and multiproxy geochemical analyses to elucidate the origin and timing of fluid flows and diagenetic processes in the Umm Luj Basin of the Red Sea. The results reveal two distinct fluid members and tectonic events, providing new insights into the paleo-fluid circulation related to tectonic events.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of resin, asphaltene, anionic surfactant, and hydrophilic nanoparticles on the wettability alteration of calcite and dolomite rocks. The results show that these components significantly affect the wettability of the rocks, with resin and asphaltene playing a key role in altering the rocks towards an oil-wet state. The use of silica nanofluids and anionic surfactants also showed promising results in modifying the wettability of carbonate rock surfaces.

Summary: This article examines different types of dolomite from three Neoproterozoic dolostone profiles in China and proposes a diagenetic model explaining the decrease in iron and manganese concentrations during dolomitization. The study questions the use of widespread Neoproterozoic fibrous dolomite cements in paleoclimate reconstruction and as evidence for the "dolomite sea" hypothesis.

Summary: This study comprehensively summarizes the sedimentary characteristics, combination patterns of rocks, and formation models of dolomite-evaporite paragenesis systems (DEPS) in the Sichuan Basin, China. The distribution, combination patterns, and types of evaporites and dolostones in DEPS are clarified. The spatiotemporal distribution, influencing factors, and developmental models of DEPS are also summarized. The research on DEPS provides new insights into the origin of dolomite and theoretical guidance for the exploration of oil and gas resources.

Summary: The presence of magnesium in natural waters can strongly inhibit calcite precipitation and the transformation of aragonite to calcite. The rate at which aragonite stabilizes to calcite increases with lower fluid:solid ratios. Increases in fluid:solid ratio also lead to greater incorporation of magnesium into calcite products, suggesting that fluid:solid ratio is an important factor in carbonate diagenesis.
