The study found that adding different percentages of dietary Aleo vera leaf extract had a significant impact on the body composition and hematological parameters of Nile tilapia fry. Additionally, the T1 and T2 groups showed significantly higher final body weight, final body length, average daily weight gain, net weight gain, and specific growth rate compared to T0 and T3 treatments.
A 105-day experimental trial was conducted to assess different levels of dietary Aleo vera extract supplementation on water quality parameters, proximate composition, growth performance and haematological parameters of fry Oreochromis niloticus. Four different percentages of dietary leaf extract powder of Aleo vera (ALE) with a basal feed, designated as, i.e., T0 (Control group; without ALE), T1 (1% ALE), T2 (2% ALE), and T3 (3% ALE). Fish fry was reared in concrete tanks (7.0 m, 1.6 m, 1.0: L, W, H; water volume 11.2 m3/tank), with an average initial weight 4.04 +/- 0.03 g/ fry, and each treatment was triplicated. Fry was randomly distributed at a stocking rate of 450 individuals/ tanks. The water quality parameters revealed that temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen (DO) and nitrates were found in a promising range as given by FAO/WHO limits. However, the record values obtained for Electric Conductivity (EC), Total dissolved solids (TDS), and alkalinities were not found in all tanks' suitable range according to FAO/WHO limits. The results revealed a significant impact of different percentages of dietary ALE supplementation on fry's body composition and haematological parameters. Moreover, the final body weight, final body length, average daily weight gain (g), net weight gain (g) and specific growth rate (%) were significantly higher (p < 0.05) in T1 and T2 compared with T0 and T3 treatments. The poorest feed conversion ratio was recorded in the T2 group compared with other treatments. Thus, the current study provides information about the nutritional quality of Nile tilapia culturing in Pakistan. (c) 2021 The Author(s). Published by Elsevier B.V. on behalf of King Saud University. Non-stationary 3-D GBSM channel model for V2V communications

Yan Xu, Asad Saleem, Muhammad Asif, Wali Ullah Khan, Zain Ul Abiden Akhtar, Md Sadek Ali

Summary: In this paper, a non-stationary 3-D GBSM vehicle-to-vehicle channel model is proposed in the tunnel environment based on massive multiple-input multiple-output antenna arrays. The model uses spherical wavefront assumptions and investigates the transmission characteristics in a high-speed-train environment. Expressions for delay spread, Doppler power spectrum density, temporal cross-correlation function, and channel capacity are derived and various model parameters are examined. The proposed model's adaptability and effectiveness are verified through measurements, simulations, and analytical results.

Summary: The aim of this study was to observe the level of heavy metals (Pb, Fe, Cu, Cd, Cr) in various tissues of Decapterus macarellus collected from the Karachi and Gwadar coasts of Pakistan. The results showed that all metals, except for Cd and Cr, were within permissible limits. The Karachi environment was found to be more polluted than the Gwadar environment, and consuming muscles from this species was deemed safe for human health.

Summary: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping next-generation infrastructures through intelligent and adaptive radio systems. This paper proposes an efficient resource prediction framework (ERPF) to provide proactive knowledge about radio resources' availability in software-defined heterogeneous radio environmental infrastructures (SD-HREIs). The framework utilizes clustering algorithms and machine learning techniques to predict radio occupancy and opportunity. The performance of the proposed methods is validated through cross-validation metrics.

Energy-Efficient Backscatter-Assisted Coded Cooperative NOMA for B5G Wireless Communications

Muhammad Asif, Asim Ihsan, Wali Ullah Khan, Ali Ranjha, Shengli Zhang, Sissi Xiaoxiao Wu

Summary: In this manuscript, an alternating optimization framework is proposed to maximize the energy efficiency of a backscatter-enabled cooperative NOMA system. The framework considers the transmit power, power allocation coefficients, and relay power under imperfect successive interference cancellation decoding. A low-complexity energy-efficient algorithm is introduced to optimize the transmit power, PAC, and relay power, taking into account the quality of service, power budget, and cooperation constraints. Additionally, a joint channel coding framework is introduced to enhance the performance of far user with bad channel conditions.
