The electropulsing method improves the electromagnetic shielding performance and corrosion resistance of magnesium alloy by controlling precipitation, leading to increased shielding efficiency and corrosion resistance, with the advantages of high efficiency and low consumption.
Magnesium alloy has good electromagnetic shielding performance, but its shielding effect on high-frequency electromagnetic waves is weak and its corrosion resistance is poor. In order to solve the above problems, an electropulsing method based on precipitation control is proposed. The feasibility of this method is verified by microstructure analysis and measurement of electrical conductivity, electromagnetic shielding effectiveness, electrochemical AC impedance and polarization behavior. After treated by electropulsing, the shielding efficiency of 1500 MHz electromagnetic wave increased by 109.4%. The increase in electromagnetic shielding efficiency is attributed to the increase in absorption loss and reflection loss caused by the dissolution of precipitates and the decrease in size after the electropulsing treatment. Electrochemical test results show that the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys has also been improved. The reduction in precipitates leads to a reduction in corrosion micro galvanic. In addition, a more uniform composition and microstructure are obtained, thereby reducing the possibility of local corrosion. The electropulsing method is used to control the microstructure of the magnesium alloy, which improves the electromagnetic shielding performance and corrosion resistance of the magnesium alloy, and has the advantages of high efficiency and low consumption. It is expected to stimulate the interest of researchers to expand the application fields of magnesium alloys.
