Summary: Globally, there is inadequate adoption and implementation of policies to improve food environments and prevent weight gain. Monitoring dynamic food environments is complex, but crowdsourcing can increase data collection by engaging citizens. A scoping review identified 42 articles, which showed that photovoice techniques were commonly used to understand access to healthy food, while some studies developed apps for price and nutritional data collection. Crowdsourced data from engaging priority populations have potential to improve public and policy engagement with equitable food policy actions.

Summary: This research examines the impact of platform design on crowdsourcing contributions, specifically focusing on the element of tolerance to incompleteness and its effect on users' willingness to contribute. Through a quasi-experimental approach on Zooniverse, it was found that a format change reducing tolerance to incompleteness led to a decrease in the quantity of contributions but a decrease in quality.

Summary: Recent advances in Earth Observation have highlighted the importance of Citizen Science in providing information for the SDGs and climate neutrality targets. However, models and tools that assimilate these data sources have not been thoroughly investigated. This literature review aims to address this gap and discuss the benefits and future directions. The review found a preference for multispectral satellite sensors and highlighted the potential of passive crowdsensing observations. Additionally, the review emphasized the importance of citizen engagement and the use of scalable models in achieving a climate-neutral Earth.

Summary: The study investigated the impact of sourness on umami taste perception and found that increasing acidity significantly decreases the intensity of umami perception. Factors like hunger level and time since last eating also affect umami intensity perception. Biological factors such as sex, age, ancestry, and gene variation do not seem to play a role in umami perception.

Summary: This study aims to determine the dietary interventions tested in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), assess the method of modulation and outcomes employed, and summarize the evidence for any benefit. The study identified 25 clinical investigations, with only 40% conducted exclusively in HFpEF. Most studies used highly tailored prescribed diets or dietary supplementation, while dietary pattern interventions were less common. The study highlights the challenges of pooling heterogeneous studies and the importance of better reporting and standardized definitions and measurements.

Summary: This study investigates the impact of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) on patients' lives within the context of limited clinical services. The findings suggest that HFpEF patients face a heavy workload and multiple threats, while lacking recognition of their illness. These factors contribute to negative physical, social, and psychological outcomes, as well as a perception of loss of control.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of dietary interventions in HFpEF. The analysis of randomized or controlled studies revealed that caloric restriction and carbohydrate restriction led to significant improvements in blood pressure, while protein supplementation improved blood pressure and body weight. However, due to study heterogeneity and overall quality of the evidence, it is difficult to make firm recommendations.

Summary: While many individuals feel obligated to participate in screening programs for early treatment of detectable conditions, why some people choose not to participate receives less attention. In a study examining nonparticipation in a national research trial of atrial fibrillation screening, participants who declined the invitation expressed doubts about the necessity and utility of the screening at their age. The study concluded that nonparticipation was based on the consideration of perceived necessity, legitimacy, and utility of the screening.

Summary: This study takes an interdisciplinary perspective to investigate the everyday practice of CTG monitoring and the work systems it is embedded in. The findings suggest that potential risks in CTG monitoring include inadequate recording and interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns, poorly designed or functioning systems for seeking opinions and escalating concerns, staffing and equipment issues, and variable standards and workflows. Improving CTG monitoring requires accounting for complex system interdependencies.
