This study successfully fabricated phase-changeable core-shell nanoparticles, which have great potential for enhancing photoacoustic imaging. By combining chemotherapy and photo-sonodynamic therapy, the treatment strategy induced immunogenic cell death and significantly enhanced antitumor immunity, inhibiting the growth of ovarian cancer.
Immunotherapy by stimulating the host immune system has been a promising therapeutic strategy for advanced ovarian cancer. Here we describe a treatment strategy that combines chemotherapy and photo-sonodynamic therapy (PSDT) to induce systemic antitumor immunity. We have successfully fabricated phase-changeable core-shell nanoparticles (OIX_NPs), which carry oxygen in the core and the photosensitizer indocyanine green (ICG)/oxaliplatin (OXP) in the shell for our combination therapy. In the present study, we demonstrated that OIX_NPs have great potential as contrast agents to enhance photoacoustic (PA) imaging. Furthermore, our combined strategy could induce immunogenic cell death (ICD) by promoting surface exposure of calreticulin (CRT) and passive release of high-mobility group box 1 (HMGB1). Importantly, it could inhibit the growth not only primary tumors but also distant tumors in a bilateral syngeneic mouse model by increasing intratumor infiltration of cytotoxic T lymphocytes. In conclusion, the combination of chemotherapy and PSDT has the potential to enhance antitumor immunity significantly and achieve the integration of diagnosis and treatment for ovarian cancer.

Summary: Using 4.5 fb(-1) of electron-positron annihilation data collected at BESIII, we have observed the Cabibbo-suppressed and Cabibbo-favored decays with statistical significances of 7.9 sigma, 7.8 sigma, and >10 sigma respectively. The branching fractions of these decays are measured and found to be significantly different. Notably, the branching fraction of Lambda(+)(c) -> n pi(+) pi(0) is about one order of magnitude higher than that of Lambda(+)(c) -> n pi(+).

Analysis of Pcs(4338) and related pentaquark molecular states via QCD sum rules

Xiu-Wu Wang, Zhi-Gang Wang

Summary: In this study, the authors utilize QCD sum rules to identify P-cs(4338) as the (D) over bar Xi(c) molecular state and investigate various molecular states with different strangeness in detail. The results suggest that P-cs(4338) (P-cs(4459)) can be identified as the (D) over bar Xi(c) ((D) over bar*Xi(c)) molecular state with specific spin-parity and isospin values. Observing related states with different isospin values in the invariant mass distributions would provide insights into their internal structures.

Sedimentary provenance and age of the Shengshan Island loess on the continental shelf of the East China Sea: Implications for windblown dust transport during the Last Glaciation

Chao Wu, Zhigang Wang, Qi Wang, Peng Qian, Xiangmin Zheng, Gangjian Wei

Summary: Knowledge of sedimentary provenance and age is important to understand windblown dust activity in source regions. In this study, the sedimentary provenance and age of the Shengshan Island loess on the continental shelf of the East China Sea were determined using geochemistry, micropaleontology, and dating methods. The results show that the Shengshan Island loess originated from the Yangtze River sediments, nearby granites, and dust from the Asian interior. The local dust emissions were directly influenced by low sea levels and an arid environment during the Last Glaciation.

Strong decay properties of single heavy baryons ?(Q), s(Q) and O???????(Q)

Guo-Liang Yu, Yan Meng, Zhen-Yu Li, Zhi-Gang Wang, Lu Jie

Summary: Motivated by recent progresses in experiments in searching for the ?c baryons, the strong decay behaviors of single heavy baryons ?(Q), s(Q) and O-Q are analyzed systematically. The two-body strong decay properties of S-wave, P-wave and some D-wave states are studied and the quantum numbers of many other experimentally observed baryons are suggested based on their strong decays. Additionally, some baryons which have good potentials to be observed in experiments are predicted and the possible decay channels for searching for these predicted states are also suggested.

Analysis of the Tcs(2900) and related tetraquark states with the QCD sum rules

Xiao-Song Yang, Qi Xin, Zhi-Gang Wang

Summary: In this research, the T-cs(-)(2900) is tentatively assigned as an A(-)A-type tetraquark state. The mass spectrum of tetraquark states with strange and doubly strange, having spin-parity J(P) = 0(+), 1(+), and 2(+), is studied in detail using QCD sum rules, where A represents the axialvector-diquark state. The predicted mass of M = 2.92 +/- 0.12 GeV is consistent with experimental values and supports the assignment of Tcs(-)(2900) as an A(-)A-type scalar tetraquark state.

Summary: Motivated by recent experimental progress in heavy baryon searches, this study systematically analyzes the mass spectra and root mean square radius of single heavy baryons AQ, EQ, and QQ. The results show that the lowest state of single heavy baryon is dominated by the λ-mode. Based on this, the mass spectra and Regge trajectories of baryons with λ excited mode are calculated and found to fit well with experimental data.

Summary: Motivated by experimental progress in heavy baryon studies, this research investigates the mass spectra of strange single heavy baryons using the relativistic quark model and the infinitesimally shifted Gaussian basis function method. The results show good agreement with experimental data, and also provide detailed analysis of wave function properties. Regge trajectories in the (J, M-2) plane are successfully constructed, and quantum numbers are assigned to recently observed baryons. The spectral structure of strange single heavy baryons is discussed, and predictions are made for new baryons that may be observed in future experiments.

Analysis of the D-wave Sigma-type charmed baryon states with the QCD sum rules

Zhi-Gang Wang, Fei Lu, Yang Liu

Summary: We constructed the S-type currents and used the QCD sum rules to systematically investigate the Sigma-wave charmed baryon states. The predicted masses for the Omega(c) states (with spin-parity J(P) = 1/2(+), 3/2(+), or 5/2(+)) are in excellent agreement with the experimental data from the LHCb collaboration, supporting the assignment of Omega(c)(3327) as the Sigma-type D-wave Omega(c) state.

Summary: Based on the relativistic quark model and the infnitesimally shifted Gaussian basis function method, this study systematically investigates the mass spectra of double-bottom baryons. By analyzing the p-mode which has lower energy compared to other excited modes, the allowed quantum states and mass spectra of the =(bb) and O-bb families are obtained. In addition, the root mean square radii and quark radial probability density distributions are analyzed to understand the structure of heavy baryons.

Summary: The Cabibbo-allowed weak radiative decay A+c -> E+gamma has been searched for in a sample of A+c over bar A- c pairs produced in e+e- annihilations, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.5 fb-1 collected with the BESIII detector at center-of-mass energies between 4.60 and 4.70 GeV. No excess of signal above background is observed, and we set an upper limit on the branching fraction of this decay to be B(A+c -> E+gamma) < 4.4 x 10-4 at a confidence level of 90%, which is in agreement with Standard Model expectations.

Going in quest of potential tetraquark interpretations for the newly observed Tψψ states in light of the diquark-antidiquark scenarios

Wen -Chao Dong, Zhi-Gang Wang

Summary: Stimulated by recent experimental progress on T(psi psi) states, the fully charmed tetraquark spectroscopy was investigated using different models. Theoretical results suggest that the T-psi psi(6200), T-psi psi(6600), T-psi psi(6900), and T-psi psi(7300) structures can be interpreted as candidates for fully charmed tetraquark states of different waves. However, due to a lack of experimental information, such as the parities of the observed T-psi psi states, there are uncertainties in the assignments. Further experimental surveys by collaborations such as LHCb, ATLAS, CMS, and others are needed in the future.

Summary: Using the Belle detector at the KEKB collider, 980 fb(-1) of data is analyzed to measure the e(+) e(-) -> eta phi cross section from threshold to 3.95 GeV. Clear signals of phi(1680) and J/psi are observed, but not significant signal of phi(2170) in the eta phi final state. The branching fraction B[J/psi -> eta phi] is measured to be (7.2 +/- 0.8 +/- 0.5) x 10(-4). Resonant parameters of phi(1680) are determined, including its mass and width, and the values of Gamma(e+e-)(phi(1680))·B[phi(1680) -> eta phi] and B[phi(1680) -> eta phi] are calculated based on the possible interference between phi(1680) and continuum production. The upper limit for Gamma(e+e-)(phi(2170))·B[phi(2170) -> eta phi] is determined to be either 0.17 or 18.6 eV at the 90% confidence level.
