Summary: Motivated by Finland's transition to circular economy and carbon neutrality, this study investigates the environmental aspects of resource productivity, environmental-related technologies, and export intensity using various statistical approaches and long-term estimators. The findings suggest that increasing raw material productivity can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while environmental-related technologies also play a significant role. However, economic growth measured by GDP has a negative impact on environmental sustainability in the long run. Relevant policy measures are recommended to guide decision makers in achieving circular economy and carbon zero goals in Finland.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on human life, leading to the postponement, cancellation, or virtualization of activities that require gatherings. While virtual settings offer increased inclusivity and accessibility and reduce carbon emissions, they cannot fully replace in-person scientific events. In-person meetings allow for socialization, collaboration, and idea sharing, providing novel opportunities. A hybrid model that combines in-person and virtual components may be a solution, allowing participants to choose their preferred mode of participation.

Summary: The study found that cycling-induced aging at different C-rates significantly impacts the performance of LiFePO4/graphite full cells, especially at relatively high current rates where the formation of an active lithium ion-impermeable covering layer on the anode surface leads to electrode performance degradation. This degradation is mainly attributed to the instability of the electrode/electrolyte interface and the solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) layer, causing the loss of active lithium ions and ultimately resulting in electrode deactivation.
