Summary: In this study, the synergistic effect of imidazoline and thiourea as corrosion inhibitors for Q235 carbon steel was assessed. The combination of these inhibitors reduced the migration of corrosive anions, slowed down the acidification of the solution, and resulted in higher pH and lower concentrations of Cl- and S2-. The compounded corrosion inhibitors exhibited improved corrosion inhibition rate compared to when using imidazoline or thiourea alone.

Summary: Great improvement in corrosion resistance was achieved by adding a small amount of Ta to ASTM Gr13 titanium alloy. The enhanced corrosion resistance was mainly attributed to the stabilized passive film that prolonged the time for passivity loss. OCP and EIS results demonstrated that the addition of Ta delayed the transition from the passive state to the corroding state and inhibited the loss of passivity.
