Summary: Microwave-assisted grafting of polyacrylamide on sesbania gum (PAAM-g-SG) was used to form H-PAAM-g-SG, which was then hydrolyzed using sodium hydroxide (NaOH). Diclofenac sodium-loaded pH-sensitive interpenetrating polymeric network (IPN) microbeads were designed using H-PAAM-g-SG and sodium alginate (SA). Different spectroscopic analyses confirmed the synthesis of PAAM-g-SG and diclofenac-loaded pH-sensitive IPN H-PAAM-g-SG-SA microbeads. The release of diclofenac sodium from the microbeads was pH-sensitive and showed promising potential for drug delivery.

Summary: This study investigates the supramolecular recognition behavior of protonated and neutral forms of the acridine orange dye with gamma-cyclodextrin host. The protonated form shows sequential multi-mode binding interactions with the host, forming dimeric inclusion complexes at lower host concentration and monomeric complexes at higher concentration. On the other hand, the neutral form primarily forms dimeric complexes throughout the entire host concentration range. The study provides insights into the pH-dependent interaction mechanism and potential applications in pH-controlled supramolecular assemblies.

Summary: Crosslinking affects the mechanical behavior and tissue metabolism of collagen-based tissues. Aging and diabetes alter the crosslinking type and density, thus changing tissue properties. High-connectivity enzymatic crosslinking and advanced-glycation end-products result in uniform deformation under daily activity, while low-connectivity enzymatic crosslinking does not. High-connectivity model displays more sliding, while AGEs induce instability in structures near the binding sites.

Summary: The potential of multi-layer nanoemulsions for improving the cellular uptake, antioxidant activity, and in vitro bioaccessibility of alpha-tocopherol was examined. The results showed that the multi-layer nanoemulsions significantly enhanced the cellular uptake and antioxidant activity of alpha-tocopherol compared to free coumarin 6. Furthermore, the use of chitosan and dextran sulfate as wall materials in the multi-layer nanoemulsions led to even higher cellular uptake, in vitro bioaccessibility, and antioxidant activity of alpha-tocopherol.
