Summary: The upregulation of CB2 in renal tubular epithelial cells is closely correlated with the progression of kidney fibrosis and is associated with the activation of beta-catenin. CB2 induces the formation of a beta-arrestin 1/Src/beta-catenin complex, leading to fibrotic injury, while its inhibition or knockdown can prevent this process. The CB2/beta-catenin pathway creates a positive feedback loop that plays a key role in the pathogenesis of kidney fibrosis.

Summary: Patients with schizophrenia have a high comorbidity of type 2 diabetes mellitus, likely due to antipsychotic-induced weight gain and cognitive dysfunction resulting in a disordered lifestyle. Common susceptibility genes may play a role in the association between schizophrenia and type 2 diabetes, regulating neuronal development in the brain and insulin in the pancreas through shared cascades. While genetic analyses have linked the two disorders, inconsistency in results and low to moderate risk associated with susceptibility genes suggest future research directions are needed.

Summary: The study investigated the bone regeneration capacity of BCP powder, BCP block, and BCP collagen with different concentrations of rhBMP-2 in an animal model. Results showed that increasing rhBMP-2 concentration did not significantly enhance osteogenesis, while collagen-added material may help mediate rapid bone formation in initial stages.

Summary: Activation of the Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway can inhibit neuroinflammation by downregulating pro-inflammatory cytokines and suppressing NF-kappa B/ERK-related signaling pathways. This study suggests that Wnt/beta-catenin signaling activation may play an important role in neuroprotection in certain neuroinflammatory diseases.

Summary: In this study, it was found that LECT2 expression in HCC is associated with tumor development and patient survival. Functional assays revealed that LECT2 can suppress oncogenic behaviors in hepatoma cells and inhibit CSC functions. Increasing LECT2 expression through therapy could effectively treat HCC by suppressing the HGF/c-MET axis to reduce CSC expansion.

Summary: Oral cancer is a global cause of death, and traditional treatment methods face challenges of cancer recurrence and adverse reactions to chemotherapy drugs. Natural products play a significant role in drug discovery and have potential effects against various cancers, including oral cancer. The limited bioavailability of natural products is a major obstacle to their therapeutic application. Therefore, comprehensive utilization of various formulation strategies to improve bioavailability is important. This work presents recent advancements in novel strategies for natural product delivery that significantly enhance bioavailability and reduce adverse events in the prevention and treatment of oral cancer.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the distribution of orthopedic and traumatological surgical interventions at state hospitals in a Turkish province and calculate the required number of orthopedic beds. The results showed that the most common orthopedic surgeries were performed due to hand injuries, gonarthrosis, and femur fractures. Approximately half of the procedures were caused by trauma, with male patients being more susceptible to trauma. Trauma cases were more common in spring and summer.
