Summary: This study found that Paeoniflorin (PF) can alleviate the progression of retinal vein occlusion (RVO) by inhibiting the HIF-1 alpha/VEGF/STAT3 pathway. The results of this study may provide theoretical knowledge for exploring novel treatments for RVO patients.

Summary: This study found that highly expressed mPR alpha in LUAD tissues enhances the activation of the cAMP/JAK/STAT3 signaling pathway and increases HIF1 alpha-induced VEGF secretion in the tumor microenvironment, promoting HUVEC migration and tube formation under hypoxia.

Summary: Hypoxia-induced high expression of HIF-1 alpha is associated with invasion and metastasis in HCC. Modulating HIF-1 alpha can reduce drug resistance and improve prognosis, making it a potential critical target for inhibiting HCC metastasis in the future.

Summary: This article presents the case of a 69-year-old man who developed intractably painful hypertrophic osteoarthropathy (HOA) secondary to lung cancer. Treatment with carboplatin, paclitaxel, and bevacizumab reduced tumor size and plasma vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) levels, relieving the patient's leg pain. The immunohistochemical examination showed that lung cancer cells were positive for VEGF, suggesting a potential role of hypoxia-inducible factor-1a in VEGF production. The findings of this study may lead to the development of novel management strategies for painful HOA.

Summary: Hypoxia-inducible factor 1 alpha (HIF-1a) is a transcription factor that regulates the cellular response to hypoxia and is upregulated in all types of solid tumor. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a highly vascular and hypoxic tumor, and treatments like TACE and TAE can exacerbate hypoxia in HCC. Hypoxia-activated prodrugs (HAPs) have potential as a targeted treatment for hypoxic HCC, but more research is needed to understand their effects in combination with embolization.

Summary: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common digestive malignancy and a leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide. Local ablation therapies, such as radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation, have shown effectiveness in treating HCC. However, the molecular mechanisms and HCC recurrence after ablation still need further understanding.

Summary: The study revealed that THPO and VEGF-A expression levels were significantly elevated in tumor tissues compared to liver cirrhosis tissues in HCC patients. There was a linear correlation between THPO and VEGF-A transcripts in HCC, indicating a potential interdependent regulation between the two growth factors in promoting cellular growth.

Summary: Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic disease that affects millions of people worldwide and is closely associated with factors such as hypoxia and angiogenesis. This review will examine how hypoxia activates molecular pathways and how other pathways involving inflammatory signals develop and sustain synovitis in rheumatoid arthritis.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of acute hypoxia on liver angiogenesis in largemouth bass. The results showed that hypoxia exposure promoted angiogenesis occurrence and increased the concentration of vasodilation factors. Hypoxia exposure also up-regulated the expression of certain genes and proteins related to angiogenesis. The findings suggest that acute hypoxia can stimulate liver angiogenesis in largemouth bass through the HIF-dependent pathway.
