Summary: The study aimed to investigate the ameliorative potential of GPTN against PQ-induced testicular damages. Results showed that PQ exposure caused biochemical abnormalities, decreased spermatogenic indices, altered hormone levels, induced cell apoptosis, and led to histopathological damages. However, GPTN was able to reverse these impairments, indicating its antioxidant, androgenic, and anti-apoptotic potential.

Summary: This study observed the changes in spermatogenesis, mitochondrial damage, apoptosis, and oxidative stress levels in the testes of Wilson disease mice, and investigated the effect and mechanism of glutathione on testicular spermatogenesis. The results showed that Wilson disease mice exhibited impaired testicular tissue structure, reduced sperm count, increased apoptosis, elevated oxidative stress levels, and abnormal mitochondrial ultrastructure. Glutathione treatment significantly improved testicular tissue structure, sperm count, apoptosis rate, mitochondrial structure, and oxidative stress levels in Wilson disease mice.

Summary: The study demonstrated that TFA has potential protective effects against CDDP-induced testicular injury by reducing oxidative stress and inflammatory response. It also enhanced the cytotoxic effect of CDDP in vitro through induction of apoptosis in both early and late stages. Additionally, TFA modulated various signaling pathways related to inflammation and cytotoxic activity.

Summary: This study explored the effects and mechanisms of pubertal Cd exposure on testicular development and spermatogenesis. The results showed that Cd exposure during puberty caused pathological damage to testes, reduced sperm counts in adult mice, and induced iron overload and oxidative stress. Furthermore, transcriptomics analysis revealed that Cd disrupted intracellular iron homeostasis and peroxidation signal pathway. In conclusion, Cd exposure during puberty may trigger ferroptosis in spermatogonia, leading to testicular damage and impaired spermatogenesis in adult mice.

Summary: This study investigated the mechanism of Citrinin (CTN) exposure on male infertility. The results showed that CTN exposure caused disorder of androgen, decreased sperm quality, and histopathological damage of testis. The expression of blood-testis barrier (BTB) related proteins were inhibited, and oxidative and ER stress damage were observed in the testis. Additionally, treatment with 4-Phenylbutyric acid blocked the adverse effects of CTN exposure on male reproduction.

Summary: Ischemic stroke is a common and serious disease, and neuroinflammation plays a crucial role in its progression. Microglia, astrocytes, and infiltrating immune cells are involved in the complicated neuroinflammation cascade, releasing different molecules that affect inflammation. Flavonoids, plant-specific compounds, have shown protective effects against cerebral ischemia injury by modulating the inflammatory responses.
