Summary: Parkinson's disease is caused by the depletion of dopamine neurons in the basal ganglia, and oxidative stress is one of the factors contributing to its development. Antioxidants can reduce oxidative stress and lower the risk of neurodegenerative disorders. While there is no cure for neurodegenerative illnesses, treatment can help control the disease and improve the patient's quality of life. Natural antioxidants, such as polyphenols, have emerged as a promising alternative management strategy.

Summary: The aim of this study is to develop and validate a rapid and sensitive UPLC technique for quantifying the content of Eugenol (EUG) in different spices. The optimal conditions for the separation and detection of EUG were determined through method optimization. The validated UPLC method showed a linear range of 10-100 ng/mL, and can be used for quantifying EUG in various spices, plants, pharmaceutical products, and polyherbal formulations. The antioxidant potential of EUG and different spice extracts was evaluated using the DPPH method, and EUG demonstrated high antioxidant activity.
