This study reports that graphene-nanoplatelets (GNPs) and carbon-nanotubes (CNTs) have no obvious chemical influences on cement hydration, but impact the piezoresistivity of cement composites differently. The differences in geometry of GNPs and CNTs and their interactions with cement matrix account for the different piezoresistive sensitivities of the cement composites. Our findings help clarify the piezoresistive regimes of cement composites with GNPs and CNTs. (C) 2019 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
