Summary: In metastatic osteosarcoma, the upregulation of the abnormally expressed lncRNA MELTF-AS1 is associated with a poor prognosis in patients and may promote metastasis of osteosarcoma by regulating MMP14 expression. It could serve as a potential therapeutic and diagnostic target for osteosarcoma.

Summary: In vitiligo, there are significant alterations in the expression of upregulated and downregulated lncRNAs, which play a role in regulating melanocyte function and melanogenesis. A total of 14 aberrantly expressed lncRNAs have been identified to regulate genes related to melanogenesis, suggesting their involvement in pathological mechanisms in melanocytes in vitiligo.

Summary: This study identified a novel colorectal cancer biomarker and therapeutic target, MNX1-AS1, a long noncoding RNA that drives proliferation through the MYC/MNX1-AS1/YB1 signaling pathway. These findings suggest that the MYC-MNX1-AS1-YB1 axis could potentially serve as a biomarker and therapeutic target in colorectal cancer.

Summary: This study identified two lncRNAs, UCA1 and PGM5-AS1, in the plasma of CRC patients, which have the potential to be used as diagnostic biomarkers for CRC. The diagnostic potential of these lncRNAs is even higher for early-stage CRC.

Summary: This study evaluated the roles and functions of antisense lncRNAs in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Differentially expressed antisense lncRNAs were identified and NNT-AS1 was found to be significantly associated with ESCC prognosis. Upregulation of NNT-AS1 facilitated ESCC progression, while downregulation inhibited ESCC cell proliferation and migration.

Summary: Precise expression and regulation of genes in the immune system are crucial for generating strong immune responses and preventing autoimmune diseases. Recent studies have shown that long noncoding RNAs play a significant role in immune function by regulating immune cell differentiation, development, and function. These RNAs can control the polarization of immune cells, promote pro-inflammatory or anti-inflammatory effects, and contribute to the pathogenesis of various diseases.

Summary: SOX2OT is an up-regulated oncogene in CRC, promoting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. It acts as a competing endogenous RNA to upregulate SOX5 by sponging miR-194-5p, thus affecting tumorgenesis of CRC.

Summary: We identified ADIRF-AS1 as a circadian long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that interacts with all components of the PBAF complex. ADIRF-AS1 partially regulates specific genes through modulation of PBAF and is associated with survival in human ccRCC.

Summary: In this study, a glioma-specific long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), named LIMD1-AS1, was found to be significantly overexpressed in glioma compared to normal brain tissue. High levels of LIMD1-AS1 were associated with shorter survival time in glioma patients. Functional experiments demonstrated that LIMD1-AS1 overexpression promoted glioma cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, while LIMD1-AS1 knockdown inhibited these processes. Mechanistically, inhibition of CDK7 attenuated MED1 recruitment to the super-enhancer of LIMD1-AS1, leading to decreased expression of LIMD1-AS1. Furthermore, LIMD1-AS1 directly bound to HSPA5, activating interferon signaling.

Summary: The study aims to investigate the interaction between long noncoding RNAs and HOX genes and their regulatory role in oral cancer. The results show that differentially expressed HOX genes and HOX-interacting lncRNAs are involved in crucial regulatory processes and cancer hallmark events in oral cancer. Panobinostat is identified as a common drug that affects the expression of specific lncRNAs.

Summary: Using bioinformatic techniques and biophysical studies, we identified a functionally important DNA:DNA:RNA triplex-forming lncRNA HIF1 alpha-AS1 in human endothelial cells, which reduces the expression of multiple genes by inducing triplex formation as an adapter. Additionally, we found that HIF1 alpha-AS1 is down-regulated in pulmonary hypertension and loss-of-function enhances gene de-repression and angiogenic capacity.

Summary: The abnormal expression of NR2F1-AS1 in gastric cancer is related to its correlation with NR2F1 expression, as well as their response to epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition signaling. NR2F1-AS1 modulates the miR-29a-3p/VAMP7 axis and plays a crucial role in the progression of gastric cancer.
